My biggest "plant" is about 2 inches right now, it got its first set of leaves maybe 40 hours ago, I woke up today and checked it, it doesn't look as good as it did yesterday, its kind of in the shape of a 7, is it a light problem? I have a 40w cfl right next to in the bucket, its in a 5 gallon bucket already but its still rooting in the jiffy container, it has 2 40 watt tubes over the bucket as well, I think its getting plenty of light for its young age. Could I be over watering? or does this type of stuff just happen? I am using a water/superthrive mix,
If it's bending to face the light, it's totally natural. If it's bending away from the light, then yes it may be problematic. Seedlings express a natural "sine" rhythm as they grow, bending back and fourth as if the sun was rising and setting, even if it isn't. But anything more extreme than a lean (like a 7 shape) maybe something more. Were they germinated in soil or is the jiffy just water? What's your temp Hi/Lo's and RH? How close is the light to the lil' tyke?
