sprouting problem, need help

    ok so i germed 16 seeds, planted all of them the same time, give or take a day or two depending on which ones germed quicker...problem is its been about 4-5 days of them being in the pots and i only have 2 sprouts, i have them on my roof which is flat. and its got a good amount of sunlight during the day, i also water about 2-3 times a day with a spray bottle, as not to flood them jut a nice little shower...any tips on speeding up this process, or if its wrong all together, thanks

    id say your watering them too much, i only water mine once or twice untill they sprout. Not watering them as much causes the roots to grow more in search of water and as you should know they need to grow down before they can grow up and the faster the roots grow the faster they will sprout.....

    thanks ill just water it less from now on untril they sprout i suppose

    Good advice... If you think they might need water, put your finger down in the soil about an inch. If it feels dry, give them a little water, if it's moist, wait until it's dry. :)

    HOW DRY tho? till the soil crumbles.. or what? is it true sometimes its good to not always keep it wet, cuz the roots will grow longer and search for moisture/water???? i heard that i didnt know if it was a myth or what

    Dry dry...

    When you water, make sure it's thorough (a good soaking)... The soil will get dry from the top to the bottom, so as the top dries out, the roots will go deeper to where the more moist soil is... That's why ya let it get dry before re-watering. Once it's pretty dry at 1-2", it's time for another watering.
