Spray nutes on leaves

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by Sypha, Aug 9, 2018.

  1. Is spraying nutes on to the plant and leaves a thing??

Do ppl really do that.. & the benefits of if any.. plz.

  2. They can absorb nutes through the leaves but, I wouldn't. I mist them sometimes with water only but, nutes go in the roots.

    I made a rhyme.

  5. I did use foilar feeding a lot during my first grow. But I found out that I was doing something extra without any real advantage. If you can supply all the nutes to the roots why do the extra work. On the other hand if you are diagnosing any nutrient deficiency, foilar feeding is a rapid way to deliver nutes to the plant. Also if you have insect problem sometimes you need to spray the plant with neemseed oil or other insecticide. Other than that, it is not necessary. Also if you do not have good air flow, you risk the chances of mold and if your lights are too close your plants can get light burns. Happy growing!!!

  6. Foliar feeding has its place. Kelp for instance is readily absorbed through the leaves.

Foliar spray of Epsom salts fixes magnesium deficiency quickly and a ready source of sulfur.

Some introduce silica by foliar spray, but prefer to water it in since it can leave a film.
