Spotted Leaves

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by realPragmatist, Aug 8, 2017.

  1. I'm getting into growing my own plants for the first time. I got started late, potted some clones late june, early july. Besides being small, I've gotten them to behave and grow the way I've wanted them to through trial and error.

I've started with 4 plants, 3 different strains. I've put them into 18" plastic culvert with Promix filling the culvert and the bottoms are open.(No screening or anything, just set into the natural dirt a few inches) The natural dirt where 3 are(I'm trying two locations with the duplicate strain to see which is the better spot) is sandy and rocky. Grass and weeds grew there fine before I dozed the top layer of dirt off to get rid of foreign root systems.

I've got two questions that I'm looking for clarification on. 1) With my setup would it even be possible for me to over water my plants? I've been giving them 1-2 gallons of water depending on how dry it's been each day. Should I give them more to make sure they're getting all they need?

My second question refers to the attached pic. If you look, you'll see white spotting all over the leaves. This is on all 4 plants on almost every leaf. It doesn't seem to vary with any changes to water, food, nutes. I can't seem to find the same "problem"(if it even is a problem) through searching here or google. Does anyone know what it is? Should I be worried?

Thank you ahead of time for any help!

  2. Check the underside of your leaves with a pocket microscope, you seem to have spider mites.

  4. Thank you! Now that you've made the connection for me that is what they look like. I googled real quick then went and looked at the bottom of the leaves. Sure as shit, there were itty bitty brown things hanging out that looked like the pictures I'd found.

Any thoughts on the watering? Where the bottom is open into the ground I would think it'd be nearly impossible for me to over-water but I don't wanna chance it and kill them lol.

  5. My local store didn't seem to have anything that had the sinosad in it, nor anything else that said it treated spider mites except what's pictured. It says for use on Veggies and Fruits so I'm assuming it'd be safe to use on my grow. Has anyone had any experience with this insecticide? I'd rather not end up poisoning myself lol.

  6. 1-2 gallons per plant or for all of them? How big are they? And I used neem oil when I had spider mites, worked great. Unfortunately I don't know anything about the one you purchased. Hopefully someone else can help
