Hello, I have just ordered a bunch of seeds on 1/9/2013 and now I am waiting for them. A little about my grow area. I will be using a 2' x 3' home made grow box I will be using a 200 watt cfl with 4 55 watt cfls at 6400k I only plan on growing 1 or 2 plants as mothers and cutting clones for the outdoor season then continuing my log as an outdoor journal. I haven't decided on the soil I will be using yet but any good suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Hello everybody! (Not that anybody is subscribed to my grow anyways! LOL) Carry on Spook , Got a few things to talk about today! OK so today I received my babies in my mailbox. It is 1/16/13, that means it took 10 days to be delivered. Sounds good to me! All the seeds look good and are decent size. I gave them a soft squeeze and none broke. Sweet. So I am impressed with Attitude. I also received a dope G-13 Labs shirt. (Wearing it at the moment!). Now on to the other stuff. I have made some decisions and I will be building a grow box very similar to Not Sure's - http://forum.grasscity.com/do-yourself/1019352-my-%24300-diy-growbox-26-x26-x4-250w-mh-150w-cfl.html. Mine will be 2'x2.5'x4', 4' being the height. I will be buying the materials on Saturday. I will also be showing pics of it being built. I have been thinking over and over on whether I should be going with the CFL's or to go with HID. I have a friend who might be able to sell me a 400w HPS setup for 50$-100$. But I would probably want to get a MH if I was to go HID. I want to see if the ballast will work with a MH bulb if so I will just get it. But a problem arises, will 400w MH be too hot for 20 cubed feet. I have heard that a HPS is cooler than a MH but how is a HPS for veg? If 400w is too much I will just buy a 250w MH or 200w CFL. SOOOO many desicions... I will be using coco for my medium, I will be purchasing some on saturday. I haven't decided on the nutrients I will be using yet but will look around the store and I will also be looking into a 250w MH at the same time. Just some think to think about for the next couple of days! Goodbye!
Everything sounds good to me but i didnt look at the box just your stats you wrote. Sounds very similar to my setup. Mine is 2x3x4 and i run a 400hps cooltube with just a inline and i can keep my temps at about 72-78. I run 6500k cfl for my veg box 10 23-26w. I dont know as to if a metal halide gets hotter or not but im subbed. Stop over and take a look my journal is in my signature.
Hey, I've been doing some research and I'm thinking about just getting a 200w CFL and 8 26w CFL's with a total of about 29,000 lumens all together and 5,800 lumens per sq.ft. and I just looked at your grow and I'm pretty convinced on going with CFL's now... Thank you.. unless... my buddy's ballast will work with MH... so many decisions. well at least I will be germinating on Saturday and will be able to start them under some 2700k 26w'ers... until I make up my mind. duuuuurp
I use to run 16 2700 k 26wfor flower an it worked great I just decided to upgrade to a hid its 20000 lumen increase from the cfls. My box is 6sq ft so its 9000+ per sq.
I only plan on making mother plants so I don't need to do anything with flowering. Spook is my cats name lol. When I got her she was spooked by everything.
I placed 2 seeds in wet paper towel in between 2 plates and placed them on top of my fridge. I'm going to go pick up some coco and a light today also probably a ph meter and ph up and down. If I have enough money I will go get the frame for my grow box. Even if I don't get the box up right away I'm sure the seedlings wont mind.
I Picked up a 200w 6400k CFL with a reflector and some coco and ph up ph down. I ran out of funds this paycheck so I wasn't able to buy the materials to make a grow box. Still playing the waiting game on the seeds though... so impatient.
Hey haven't updated in a long time cuz I had no camera. Now I do, yay. I have 1 Sour Kush by R.Privera or wtv it's called and I have 1 Silver L.A. aswell. My L.A. Woman was a dud too bad soo sad... Really wanted to.grow it BUT what can ya do? LOL just order more I guess! But thats.for future grows. I will call my babez SK and S.LA for now on cuzzzzz i'm lazy... lol Ok sooo my SK is at 19 days and my S.LA is at 4 days. They are both under 1 200 watt 6500k CFL and 1 13 watt 2700k CFL. They are both in Coco Coir The SK has started nutes: - Jungle Green 17-15-17 By Plant Food With An Attitude -Magical By Techniflora Started feeding SK at about week 1.5 - 2. (can't remember). I feed everyday and flush whenever I feel like. I use 24h tap water PH'd to 5.8 and runoff ranges 5.5 - 6 which is good with me. I transplanted the SK 2 days ago to about a gallon bucket from the same kind of square pot that the S.LA is in. (It is white plastic Ill deal with it later. But she became rootbound had to use whatever was around). It has roots growing out the bottom too all ready and I just transplanted it on Saturday. This thing has a crazy root system! Probably a great strain for a DWC... maybe one day. I've been contemplating topping or F.I.M. the SK. Might do it next week... WELL HERE'S PICS OF MY LITTLE GIRLS! : - Day 19 - SK - Day 4 - S.LA Seedling Soooo buddy of mine has a 600w HPS with dimmable dig. ballast, hood and new bulb for 250$ - 200$ was wondering if that's a good deal because I want to run a 250w but wouldn't mind using it dimmed to a 400w so I don't have to order 1 or go to a heatbag hydro store lol. Anybody think it would be aiiight if I just let it hang in a small bedroom without a growbox? OKAY spent like 3 hours writing this... LOL GOODBYE MUFFHUGGERS
hy week 3 update noticed some wierd shaped leaves and a little browning. but everything else.looks good shes exploding
