  1. a quick question to my fellow blades...

What is the best way to get rid of spider mites?

  2. spray the plants (especially the underside of leaves) & grow area with neem oil every 4 days for about 2-1/2 weeks

  3. thanks... would this be something that can be found at a local hydroponics store?

  4. yes easily found

  5. Ok.. thanks very much. again for a timely response... +rep.

  6. neem oil does works brilliantly .... try not to use too much oil based products in flowering as it can clog up your flowering sites .... ummmm iam in australia so i don't know what products might be on your self .... maverick works well but does have a long witholding period ... we have a product called dead red which works brilliantly and only has a witholding period of 7 days .... products containing malathon work well .... but if you miss a patch they'll come back cuz they breed like rabbits .... after harvest man turn everything off and let off some flea bombs in your room as well ... then wipe everything down etc ... spidermites tap into the vascular system and feed from the carbohydrates in the plant (sucking all the goodness out ) never have a food source laying around if it does'nt need to be there. And if you play in the garden have a shower and change of cloths before entering your room

  7. ok thanks... these are all on clones that are sold at my dispensary... at this point we are just going to throw them all away and take a major loss on what we paid for them... Our problem was when they were purchased, the guy who bought them did not even think to check to see if there was anything wrong with the plants... low and behold a week later we start seeing them ALL OVER the leaves... So I am 99% positive that they were already on the plants before we purchased them.

But it has been weird just watching them duplicate day after day... started with like just seein 10... now theres like 100 on one plant alone... We definatly can not sell these to patients. Looks like were just going to have to take the loss... atleast now i know what to look for and what-not when i start my grows.

ALSO... Is there anything that can be done to prevent them? I know no how to get rid of them... but any measures to take to prevent them? (this would be an indoor grow)

  8. yeah man 99% of the time somebody gives them to you ..... the only way to prevent them really is not to bring them in .... they won't usually crawl far .... like they always need a host plant and they usually won't travell more than 10 meters or so to find another plant once they have sucked all the goodness out of the last plant .... once you start seeing them clump up together in large balls it means that their planning to find another host plant because the one they are on has nothing much left in it ....
