spider mites

  1. Dear Group
I had a problem with spider mites in the final weeks of my first grow. I tried a bleach solution a few times and can't get rid of them. I have decided to give up. I have taken a few cutting and trashed the rest, as I had 4 girls. Now can I use stronger chemicals to get rid of them, or just give up completly? How do I clean the carpeted closet? Should I just start over and wait out the spider mites in the grow area? Thanks for the help. Jeff

  3. you don't want bleach on your cannabis.

try buying Safer's Insecticidal Soap. should cost 10-15$ for a half litre container of it. Mix it with cayenne and garlic in a spray bottle and apply regularly during vegetative growth and in the first week of flowering and to clean your general area. This should do wonders and kill off the spider mites. If you are still concerned in flowering, change the mixture to just cayenne, garlic and water and you can keep spraying. This way you don't get any yucky chemicals all over your buds.

  4. Get some AVID. Its a powerful miticide thats not to toxic if you read directions. Two treatments seven days apart will get them all. Now start cleaning the growroom, mop with bleach water. Dont bring strange plants into your room. Keep pets out, in fact keep everyone out. Make sure you are clean when you go in. Quarentine all new plants 2 weeks and check with magnifiers the whole time looking for pests.

  5. First thing I would do is get rid of the carpet!! Must be full of mites of all kinds! Failing that, hire an industrial vacum cleaner/steam cleaner that will heat the carpet to high degrees killing mites & eggs and clean the shit out of it. Have a feeling your mites will go away. Hope that helped!

    Good Luck
