Spider mites on seedling in solo cup. When to transplant?

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by supressed, Dec 31, 2019.

  1. Hey guys. Got a week old seedling doing pretty perfectly in a solo cup, but she's got a few mites and they're beginning to build a tiny web.

I have horticultural bug spray arriving today in the mail, what route should I take? Drench just the soil? (I see no bugs on the seedlings at all)
LIGHTLY spray the soil? Spray it several times a day lightly?

When should I transplant? I have 5gallon smart pots ready and waiting for these girls, but clearly I shouldnt transplant until the bug issue is taken care of. No?

  2. Azamax and Bonide Pyrethrin. Spray the soil and the plant, focusing on the undersides of leaves. Alternate every 4 days with these. If the plants are small enough, you may be able to make a batch and dunk them. Both options above are organic

  5. After you get rid of the mites, address the stress that caused their arrival. Infestation is a clear sign water is not effectively moving into the plant. You have to find out the cause, whether too much or too little water, chemically imbalanced soil, compacted soil etc. Mites don't bother healthy plants.
