What can I do to save the plant for use If I have to make wax out of it or whatever that’s fine. It’s my first grow and it’s the only one I got and I’m just trying to get it to it’s best potential I’ve been lightly hitting it with neem oil Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Blast that shit with neem oil. Make sure your getting the bottom of the leaves. Do several applications over the next few weeks! Einstein oil is the best. Then get some ladybugs too! Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Also, you will need several follow up applications of the neem oil for the eggs that will be hatching shortly after you kill the adults. 3-4 applications about 3 days apart should get you back on your feet. Next time preventative maintenance with neem oil is your best bet because the later you are into flowering the more risk you have of mold and to a lesser extent the neem oil tainting your buds taste if done too late into flowering......like the last 2 weeks I would NOT spay any neem. Good luck!
Prophylactic treatment of soil and surrounding area before you grow is paramount. Predatory mites are very effective. IMHO. I would never spray neem on my buds. As with the mites, they are becoming resistant to one method of treatment. You have an infestation and even if you used neem, it won't get them under control this late in the game. I have been there, This is what I use in flower. It's pricey, but it works as long as you follow the dosage. Good luck! 1 Quart Nuke Em®
Natures Care Insect Killer works for me and my friend. I apply it 1 every 2 weeks at night time or lights off. I spray all over and under leaves.
I only have about a month left of flower so you’re saying I should blast it over and over again until I reach harvest Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
My credentials.... next year start spraying neem through the whole veg process as well as 3/4 of the floweringcycle. Like bigbuds said preventions the best method! Ps. I grow organically I would never use chemicals on my plants. To each their own tho! Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Remember the mites hang out on the underside of the leaves. That’s also where they lay their eggs. Make sure your getting both sides. Top and bottom of the leaves. The already eaten leaves will not get better but you should see that your new growth won’t have any spots. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
If you have mites this season, chances are you will have them next season if you don't treat the soil and the surrounding area before you plant. AND remember neem is not a cure all. The mites are becoming very resistant to just one miticide. Neem isn't a cure all when it come to mites. There are other organic products that you should use in rotation at the onset of your grow. AND be consistent with your treatment.
This is what i used to get rid of mites late in flower. Organic, and is completely evaporated in 5 days. You can use it up to the last 5 days of flowering. Pricey as all hell but well worth the money. I learned my lesson last grow, so now all my plants wether indoor grow or outdoor grow get this from week 2 and on for preventative maintenance.
I use Dr Bronner's Peppermint Soap! It is safe, smells better than neem and can be rinsed off the next day with plain water! The only thing is you have to do a good job spraying down the plants. With small plants, I dip them in a bucket of soapy water right up to the notched cardboard circle that I use to hold the soil in. You have to get the underside of the leaves wet and repeat it every 3 days. The soapy water strips off the waxy coating insects have, and then they die, horribly, of dehydration! Many strains of mites have become immune to poisons, but they can not become immune to dehydration! Garlic powder and cayenne powder in the mix work? Or real garlic Sent from my KING_KONG_3 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Just like in cooking, the real thing is best! Dehydration allows a lot of the terpenes (flavor chemicals that plants use to ward off bugs) to evaporate, so while the dehydrated stuff should work, you'd get a better effect with the fresh. Granny
I like terps. No powder entering my garden, except green cure. Heh All these bugs and my neighbors like hey u spray eeeeek. (They don't garden) If I had all these bugs ... You think I'm spraying poison?!?! Nope, organic efforts. Sent from my KING_KONG_3 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
