I am new to this forum and I have a question about reflectors. Why is it that I hear all the time how mirror finish reflectors are bad for growing? I have heard various reasons why but they don't make sense to me. I come from the lighting industry where specular aluminum reflectors provide the most efficient use of light. What would make this different when using the light for growing instead of lighting your space?
from what i understand and im still new to growing also but i think its because mirror finish reflectors causes hot spots but i dont know if thats the actual reason
I've heard the same thing about hot spots and I'm not sure how reflected light would be creating a hot spot but direct light from a HID lamp with or without a glass lens wouldn't.
