South vs North facing flower quality comparison

  1. Does the north side of an outdoor/greenhouse marijuana plant produce lesser results as compared to the southern facing side?

In the northern hemisphere, our August-October flowering season sees the sun decline into the southern sky, greatly reducing the northern side of a plant's direct sun exposure. With large plants, the shading effect seems like it could be substantial.

Does this result in lower quality flowers on the north side than the south? Less dense and less frosty?

  2. The more direct sunlight, the denser and frostier they will be.

  3. So if we assume the soth ufacing stuff is "top shelf", does that mean the northern side will likely be a grade or two below?

  4. Too many variables for anyone to be able to answer that accurately. It just depends how much shade it is getting compared to the full exposure plants.

  5. In my experience you can't really tell outdoor. The buds will all look similar to each other on the same plant. Indoor it's a different story.
