morn GC. i picked up some sour d clones a few days ago. i was wondering could these large pre-flowers be a trait or is this plant going into early flower. i have another that seems to be showing male signs. non of my other clones have this issue. all under 400w mh 18/6 pro-mix avg temp 79 hum 50-65%
this is the one i think is male...
I can't tell in the middle pic if that I a swollen calyx or a pollen sac. I would give it more time but keep a close eye on it. It's not a decision required immediately. Beginning 3rd grow(Apprentice) - BC Big Bud
those arent pre flowers bro, that plant looks like it was taken when the plant was well into flower. it's gonna have to revert back to veg growth.
The last one is atleast part female...may be a hermie, but those clones do look like they were cut from a flowering plant. Expect them to take a little time to revert back into full veg mode.
thanx guys. so basically even when these revert back to veg it still may hermie do to the stress of light cycle? damn buying clones is just as cut throat as buying bud off the street. and i thought growing it was suppose to make it easier. paid 20 bucks for those hookers. is it good to re-veg em then clone and flower? wanted to keep her as baby mama, or just flower when she ready and let it go.
Depends on who you talk to. Some say to clone in veg and it will root fast, and others say it's fine to do it in flower. Usually if it's a good, strong strain it won't hermie. People online like to make it seem like these plants just hermie if you look at them the wrong way, and it's not that accurate. Usually if you get a hermie it's because somewhere along the line it had hermie tendencies bred into it. Either on purpose or by accident. The older way of making fem seeds was to stress your plant into hermie to create the fem pollen from it, then when you pollenate another plant you get fem seeds. The problem with doing it that way is by MAKING your plant hermie it breeds it in to an extent. Maybe it won't show up, but it's there. So then people freak out that light did this, and temp did that when they don't really know why. I'm not arguing that too many variances can make them hermie, but think about it. If most of this was true almost every outdoor plant would end up hermie because outside conditions are rarely as nice as indoors. Call me crazy, but if you get hermies there's a decent chance it's because the seed already had it bred in at some point and therefore it's more likely. The new way of making fem seeds stresses the plant into hermying, but doesn't include the herm trait in the seeds usually. It's a bit more consistent. I think a lot of people are running around breeding and making hermie seeds. As far as clones in flower, that's not uncommon, and depending on who you talk to it may take a couple extra days to root, and others say it doesn't take any extra time. The bonus is knowing that they are female plants. If you take one in veg it could be a male clone. So if the store (I assume it was a grow store) used reg seeds it's not that uncommon to wait until flowering.
