sorry for the ignorance, but what's a macro?

    When used in terms of pictures, what does macro mean?
    Digitally zoomed in? Just real high res? Something else?

    1) That is hilarious

    2) I didn't think to google it, as I know several definitions of macro, but had only ever encountered the one in reference to pictures on this forum... for some reason I thought it was slang or something.
