Soros Spending Over $48 Million Funding Media Organizations

Discussion in 'Politics' started by Dronetek, May 20, 2011.

  1. NPR is public broadcasting. They do and always have received the vast majority of their funding from private donors. Dronetek is inferring that these donors receive some kind of editorial influence in exchange for their money, which there is absolutely no evidence of. If people want to hold NPR and PBS to a higher standard due to the tax dollars they receive then that's great, however, the only criticism I've seen coming from the right wing has been petty and deceitful slander.

Personally, I think I'm over the whole bias in the media debate. It's a pointless waste of time. I just thought it was a bit ironic that the media's most influential behind the scenes figure is using his own network to make false claims that some other unfriendly billionaire is essentially trying to do the same thing he is.

Soros has stated that his goals are to take down Fox and Republicans. NPR has not done any kind of investigative journalism in to Soros and they regularly follow the typical left wing/MSM line. No evidence my ass.

Oh, what a surprise that the MSM and NPR echo the same exact misinformation that George Soros spews!

More unsubstantiated bullshit and not all criticism of NPR has been "right wing".

NPR has history of being accused of liberal bias | The Daily Caller
NPR largely gets a pass specifically because of their bias. If Fox or some other hypothetical network was getting tax payer money and producing political propaganda, the uproar would be deafening.

There is no debate. The media is all heavily biased and corrupted by politics. The evidence is overwhelming at this point.

  3. No point in arguing with you Drone. It's never gotten us anywhere before, and I don't see why it would now.

"On October 26, 2010, Soros donated $1 million, the largest donation in the campaign, to the Drug Policy Alliance to fund Proposition 19, that would have legalized marijuana in the state of California if it had passed in the November 2, 2010 elections."

At least Soros has that going for him...

  5. Why would you post this? What does it have to do with anything?

The MSM made up fake reports of violence concerning the tea party for 2 straight years and I guarantee RT didn't do a story about it.

  6. ^^ Fox isn't main stream media? LOL. You are delusional, buddy.

Edit: Just put that video to show that Fox "News" isn't reliable. Stick to C-Span or CNN imo.

  7. Lol, neither of those are exactly reliable "News" stations either buddy.

  8. Yeah, the double standard is ridiculous....

  9. Polls of people in foreign countries show that most people in the world consider CNN and C-Span to be centrist news stations. But I'd be open to you naming some stations that you consider real news.

You think CNN is unbiased? So, as long as the media station plays to your bias, its fine?

Who said it wasn't? You're the one claiming CNN is centrist. Talk about delusional. They don't have a single right leaning reporter. They're all staunch left wingers. Besides that, they regularly get caught spinning news in favor of Democrats.

That last part is something I've noticed A LOT of. The MSM and left wingers accusing "the right" and Fox of things they themselves are blatantly guilty of.

  13. Kind of like someone who is clearly heavily biased to the right and defends fox news talking a lot about how the msm is biased?

  14. A study at UCLA has discovered these facts about media bias in the US.

You can read more at UCLA's website, here.

  15. People aren't biased. They have opinions. Everyone is biased in favor of their opinions. Stop comparing individuals to mass media originations. Its retarded.

    Huh?

  16. There's no difference in terms of what i'm talking about. Biased people shouldn't complain about baised things.

  17. Thats the dumbest thing Ive read on here in a while.

  18. No worries man, I think that when I see a lot of your posts as i'm sure you do with mine.

  19. They batantly do. A lot. It's how American politics works.

And I know you say Murdoch doesn't count, but the man is JUST as involved in politics as Soros. The only difference is Murdoch's even heavier involvement in the MSM. How is that not exactly what you just said in this post?

  20. I never said it didn't matter, but its got nothing to do with the topic and Fox gets more shit focused on it than all the other networks combined. If you want to join the anti-Fox chorus, go right ahead. I'm going to focus on the people who get almost no scrutiny at all.

This is about a known left wing agitator giving millions to a network that gets tax payer money to produce political propaganda.
