SONT Lamp Ballast

    Hi,

    Me and a friend are first time growers and have set up an indoor room. We've bought a 400w lamp for the job.

    Trouble is we have a 400w ballast for the light which makes quite a loud buzzing noise. From inside the room with the door closed it's still audible.

    Just thought I'd check with you guys to see if this i normal.

    make sure that the light and ballist are grounded but they do buzz some more than others good luck

    the buzzzzin is worse if ur balast is on sumthing hard like a wooden floor or shelf cus the vibes travel, try puttin it on a bit of pollystrine (soz bout spellin) or a bit of carpet, anything to soak up the vibes, they do buzz tho.

    I know what you mean! You would think a 400w, silent running, but no. barnaby_wylde is spot on, I used to sections of roofing polly left over from my cabinet insulation. Works a treat, cuts vibration by 85-90%. Carpet would be good too. I may try both.
