Son & Father Smoking

    Okay, so, here i've spent most of my life thinking my father has at one time in his teenage years been a casual and temporary smoker.

    Just recently, a cousin of mine told me that before i was born, my dad grew large amounts of pot at his brother-in-laws farm and that he would grow in my other cousins house with HIS dad (my uncle).

    This is found quite shocking, thinking my dad was even a regular pot smoker was impossible enough, but a grower?

    He certainly doesn't grow anymore, and i am unsure if he smokes pot anymore, i don't know. Assuming he does not, how should i approach him with this peice of information, would there be an opportunity for smoking?

    Keeping in mind my father currently views me as a "young adult", who is still too unwise to decide if it's somthing i should continue to persue long term.

    well, then you should be old enough to smoke with ur dad. or maybe talk with him about it first. mention that your a responsible smoker, maybe, ask how he feels about pot. start off like that. good luck keep us posted:)

    yeah man, i would talk to him about it. When i was younger, i was caught smoking by my parents and for some reason my mom started telling me how "in her day" you could get an O fro $20 and an O "of the good stuff" for $25....this was when she was in college. Unfortunately, she has turned against the stuff since, and doesnt want me smoking the beautiful herb.

    hey i dont know if your dad is into the entire politics thing but if he is bring up the medical marijuana issues in todays world. If hes into the stuff they he will know exactly whats going on or if he watches the news or something im sure he has heard something about it. See his point of views on it.

    My dad came out and asked me if i've smoked before. And at first I told him no, and then asked him if he did. And he said "yeah" especially since he was in vietnam and it was really easy to come by over there. Anyway, a few weeks ago we go to the Willie Nelson/Bob Dylan concert and a joint gets passed around during Bob's show and so I took a hit and passed it to my dad and he took a hit.

    If he used to grow, just fucking ask him because I doubt he'd pass it up. Especially if you make it a real father-son experience.

    Yeah, let your dad know you know about his past and see if you guys can have smokin' in common... If not, oh well. It couldn't hurt to talk about it. I probably wouldn't light up a blunt in front of him and then pass it to him for his turn. Unless you can smoke around him without issue.
