Sometimes I wish hippies were still around

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by Braves4590, Sep 28, 2010.

  1. When I think "hippie" the image I get is more
    Wavy Gravy's Homepage

than John Lennon, but that is just me...:)

  2. The hippies are still here, your age, and mine, and older. But now--and then--we were never really the loud ones, the one who used herb to be bigger and better and danker and what-the-fuck-ever than the next man. We just want our lives a little better, our world a little brighter, our people a little closer.

Talking with them, what hippies regret the most is learning that you can't really change the world, when it doesn't want to be changed. You can only change yourself, live in peace and harmony, and hope people get the hint. The hippies, bless them, thought they could do it for everyone. They were wrong. Many regret it, some bitterly, even today.

We're still here. A little wiser, not so scruffy, still living in light and hope.

    Peace. Keep on.

  3. Hippies died in the 70's and they're never coming back. That said, a new generation will come around with something very similar to hippes but I doubt they'll be called hippies. Personally I would love to be in that group. Ever since I was little I've wanted to run away and start a little community in the middle of bumfuck nowhere full of people who share my ideals. It bugs me the people nowadays are stuck in the past and wish they lived back then. That's not how the future gets shaped, you have to do something not just wish.

  4. My highschool history teacher was a retired hippy but a lot of the hippy attitude traveled with him to the job and hes pretty cool and chill and didn't care if I came to class baked. He would even make jokes sometimes and ask the sterotypical stoner looking kids "did you smoke a big doob at lunch?". pretty cool guy and favpurite teacher.

  5. hippies still exist bro, they just arent all flower power like the 70s and stuff.
But take it from me i know atleast 5 Literal shroomin and puffin hippies that just lay low these days...its actually sad to see the corporate world claim them lolol

  6. There are still hippies in the sense you describe them, but they aren't as common and wide spread as they were in the 60's for sure. Also there are a lot of poser hippies who I would hate to spend time around at all, because you can tell they are just forcing it.

But I think you are just looking for laid back people who respect life and other people and try to have a good time instead of people who just want to get fucked up.

  7. bullshit. I strongly disagree with your post but i respect it...or doooo i?

  8. How is weed not a drug?

Drug- substance that has a physiological effect when it is ingested or introduced into the body by any means

  9. Yea but "drug" is a pitiful way to go about it. If that's true, then all we really are is just an assortment of drugs. Everything that grants you perception, feeling, etc. is all a controlled drug trip. DMT, melatonin, and other substances made by the pineal gland are "drugs" then, and your body produces it naturally.

So yea, marijuana can be a drug but then so is your brain.

  10. I agree that our brain is full of drugs. Dopamine, seretonin, dmt, etc.

  11. If someone wants to be pedantic about it they could say that cannabis is a plant that contains drugs instead of being a drug itself, but that's a bullshit arguement.

It's a drug. Get over it, those of you in denial. Not all drugs are bad, mmkay?

  12. you just hang out with the wrong people i guess. there are defidentially people with the lets just chill and have a good time mindset still. there's defidentially alot more lets get fucked mindset people though

  13. its just like family guy said some of us lost the values but everyone keep the weed. i myself think its sad that some people can't just hangout and relax

  14. shitttttt.

Im hippie. I have "religious" experiences when im high you could say. Its all kind of pagan stuff though. Its the Sun, and the Earth. The animals.

I think my favorite thing in the world is to see the morning light shine through the green in leaves. To sit in a warming light.

Sometimes I just want to go out in a huge forest and just see how long I could survive and only effect the surroundings as little as possible with a bunch of people in a tiny little society. We would have festivals. Grow tons of weed. Then have a harvest festival and smoke it all.

    Just live free.

Live by the ideal that we are all one giant nation under the sun. There are no borders. No nations. But we should support and love eachother.

Not to mention I dont think there is anything that can blindside you faster then nature. It can devestate anything. We as humans fall in to that category, and animals. We are part of nature.

Fate is just a giant tree. Nature is a giant web. I can relate so much to nature. and explain it all.

Im not really in to a god. Just an idea. Guidelines. I think more than anything I want to be free. I know that where I am now is not free by any means.

I think that is how a hippie might think. Deep down its the same Ideals.

But more and more people turn towards nature now I think. Theres more wonder and excitement in imagining how it all got here, and got like this. Then thinking some just poofed it in to exsistence.

I just think if you look hard enough, and with a little help from the ganja, you can uncover some ancient knowledge. More and more I think in some ways the ancient peoples had something figured out that got lost.

:hippie: - Me right now. I even have a little bubbler.

If anyone wants to know. Ive been listening to Fleet Foxes the whole time I typed this. Check them out. They are kind of hippi-ish I guess? like neo-hippie.

  16. I agree with you, it is technically a drug. But the word "drug" has a negative connotation in today's society. Saying "smoking drugs" sounds a lot more hardcore than "smoking weed".

So although it's a drug, it peeves me when people refer to it as a drug, because that groups it in with the heavy shit like meth, crack, heroin, etc.

  17. It only groups it that way if you let it do so. There's nothing wrong with the word drug, and it perfectly describes cannabis and its effects.

  18. +rep +rep +rep +rep :D

i always feel that way. kids just use it as a fashion statement to say "yeah dude i get so high everyday 'cus i'm just that badass and i don't give a fuck about the consequences"

but i think there are still hippies around, they're just under the radar at the moment. you never hear about the peace loving tolerant pot smokers because that's not what gets peoples' attention.

  19. Tha Pagans are coming back!

  20. What's that have to do with hippies? A lot of them were and are Christian, and Jewish, and Atheists, etc.
