Sometimes I wish hippies were still around

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by Braves4590, Sep 28, 2010.

  1. I'm 20 and it seems like most young people now treat weed more like a drug than a social experience. When I talk to people about blazing their answer is usually something like "yeah broooo I smoked like ten blunts yesterday I was so fuckin high dawg... me an my homies are gonna pick up some dank and smoke a few more blunts after work". Most people never want to hang out unless it involves getting laid or getting drunk or some shit like that. Like I'm all for that when I party, but when it comes to weed I like to just chill and relax.

Whatever happened to the "one love" mindset? I'd rather just sit in a scenic smoke spot and chill out for an hour or two, slowly getting high and talking to friends.

Sometimes I wish I grew up in the 60s, when people would sit in circles and pass the joint and just reflect on life and beat their little hippy drum. I dunno. I wasn't around to experience the 60s but I just get annoyed at other people my age.

Anyone else my age feel this way?

  2. lol @ neohippies

  3. Yeah? Thats probably because weed is a drug.

  4. I feel almost exactly this way and have since I was a teen. My mom always used to joke that I was a reincarnated hippy. People are obsessed with money and material things(myself included), sometimes I wish I could sell everything and find some hippy camp up in Washington or Oregon or wherever all the hippies have gone. :smoke:

  5. i think america a few years ago peaked as the most awesome that it would ever be, since then it seems to be on the decline.

  6. I think the hippies will make a comeback. Just gotta wait for the green to get legalized.

  7. ^ nope, they will be posers then. which doesnt bother me TOO much, (just a little)

  8. Southern Oregon. My grower is a first generation hippie. You get out in the woods around Eugene and they are still there. Along with a bunch of really crazy rednecks.

  9. Fuck I hate Hippies, nothing but self absorbed fruit loops.

  10. Yeah I kinda know what you're talking about, times have changed. I smoke with both the chill type and the more "getting bugged" type. I find both very enjoyable

  11. Most of the people I hang out with we basically just "chill". We play games, go out to eat, then at night we'll go party.

  12. I'm currently working on a time machine.

    Destination: San Fransisco circa 1967

Blunts are a waste too. I like to enjoy my weed, not watch it all burn up while I'm holding in my hits.

  13. but i love fruit loops. Alas...golden grahams are better..and dont even get me started on motha fuckin capn crunchberries

  14. Sig stealer! ;)

    OP, I coulden't agree more.
ACtually, I do that now. Love sittin' in my park starin' off in the distance with a friend or 2.

  15. Perfect! I will sell all my home, cars, and all other possessions to help fund the project, but I am going to need to crash on your sofa until the time machine is ready.

  16. Love the sig!

  17. Likewise!

  18. There are always hippies of any generation. Wether it was the first hippies or their children or as I fall into - their children. But I love the culture the clothes everything but I think I love weed the most. I love nothing more than getting my pretty glass girl out (my boyfriend's matches mine!) and we toke together listening to some dead or zeppelin. We are there - you just have to squint hard - a lot of us aren't accepted the way we are in public so we dress "secretively" I wear a silver pot leaf on a brown leather necklace to symbolize who I am. I was over at my nanny's house picking up my brother yesterday and my grandma grabbed the leaf and goes "Oh, what's this?" My response - "Uh, maple leaf - you know Canada." Haha, I don't think she bought though - neither did my brother.

  19. Deal. We need to spend some of that money on weed and a new bong though.
The time machine only works if your high and so far I've only gone forward in time.

Hey you wouldn't happen to have any spare plutonium?

  20. Count me in! Looks like we got a few blades willing to go. Let me know when it's done, i'll pack my bags :bongin:
