Something that really bothers me...

  1. Well, I live in Missouri, definitely not a medical state. The people who make up the majority of this state are far right-wing republicans with the thought that the government knows best about everything so we should listen to them. Well, I have been diagnosed with IBS. I suffer at least 4 times a week and when it happens its somethin that lasts almost all day. I have been put on many different prescriptions and otc medications, NONE of them have helped. Just a few days ago I was prescribed my last drug (I say last drug because I will never get another prescription for this no matter what the doctor says) for this fuckin shit. I took it exactly as I was told, 45 minutes later I was sitting in my chair hallucinating my dick off, bad hallucinations (DPH type hallucinations but what I was prescribed isn't a delerient). So I'm sitting here, still feeling like shit, the only food thats been in my stomach since Sunday is a single piece of bread. I've been trying to drink as much fluids as possible (lots of milk water and orange juice).

Now please, could somebody enlighten me upon why this "devil drug" cannabis is illegal? I've never had any bad effects from smokin the herb. In fact, its the only thing I can count on to kill the pain from IBS. I guess I just needed a little rant but does anybody besides me feel that prohibition has been pushed way to far?

  2. I think everybody here thinks that prohibition has gone too far my friend.

  3. I have always thought it went to far, but never was really effected by it until this happened. It just goes to show how much the government cares about the people. Fuckin ridiculous.

  4. Caring government?

    Isn't that an oxymoron?

  5. they care about your $$$.

you go to the doctor: pay for that
doctor gives prescription: pay for that
meds dont work: go back to the doctor
you go to the doctor: pay again
doc gives NEW prescription: pay for that

    get how it works...

dr gets paid...the pharmacy gets paid...and you get nothing. i know how you feel.

I use to have migraines that would last 3-4 days until it would get so bad i couldn't get out of bed, tolerate ANY light or ANY noise...then id start puking from the pain (felt like i wanted to jam a spoon between my eye and eye socket) until i'd go to the doc and get a shot to make it go away...then get a Rx for painkillers.

Going in to get the shot is fine...if i can bare getting in the car and driving to the office...

part that sucks is he gives me rx painkillers (vicodin). i took them once when i had a migraine...not a fan...@ first it felt nice...pain goes away...body turns into rubber (i swear it felt like i had no bones...just rubber) that was all fine...then would come all the shitty side effects...like nausea, pale face, and just feeling worse than i did before i took them.

MJ is the way to go but it'll never be realized until something epic happens

  6. Like Jesus coming down riding a gigantic pot leaf!

  7. The pharmaceutical companies are making a killing right now, there is a pill for everything and they are constantly making more medications. Our government isn't run by the president, it's run by big business, now do you think the government would allow something to be legal that you can grow in your home and get for free that cures most of the ailments we have? Hell no, the pharmaceutical companies would go out of business, and it's not just the pharmaceutical companies that don't want it legalized, there are others, but they aren't as relevant to this topic ;)

  9. <soapbox>
I feel for ya. MO is as backwoods as the hillbillies from "Deliverance" on mmj knowledge amongst the herds of sheeple...Roy Blunt is so busy making his constituents squeal like little piggies, he hasn't bothered to remove his gross ignorance related to mj/mmj...freaking moron still quotes crap from Anslinger's bible of lies, hate, bigotry and greed.</soapbox>

On the IBS...I have it, IBD and chronic infections of my diverticuli (on top of RA and Lupus)...<insert a long winded rant and hissyfit about pharm-corp payola and Dr's>...grrrr:mad::mad::mad::mad:

Try to hold off on milk, for a couple of weeks, take notes, see if reducing fresh squeezed 'bovine juice' consumption, reduces flare up symptoms.
Do the same for your typical foods of choice. I found one strain of oranges, seems to cause me problems, yet others are just fine. Can put Tabasco on stuff without issue, yet jalapeno's and fresh black-peppers will hurt, for hours...(weird stuff there...)

One very important thing to STOP getting a lot of...is stress. I used to thrive on stress, it fueled my zeal to tackle some real challenges in IT...now I can't handle much stress before IBS flares up, triggers an IBD flare up and tehh I get yet another diverticuli infection...once those set in, I spend time between bed and bathroom, for weeks...not fun (as you know).

Keep emailing the reps with the truth, if they spout off rhetoric from Anslinger's book, let them know how ignorant they are, and due to that ignorance being either their choice or a LIE, your efforts will be to campaign and vote against them...as well as you family, friends, etc, etc...

RB must have an entire staff to handle my 'communications' alone...he is one F'ed in the head moron...he (or his ghost writers, I really doubt that the prick ever reads anything other then his paychecks from congress and his true masters:mad:) even wrote back once, that 'people inject marijuana and OD on it daily'...

now for the WHY is it illegal...lies, bigotry, racism, industrial greed, and the Industrial War machine used to 'fight drugs' (which is just greed with a different mask)
Give this site a read (or two)->> http://www.drugwarrant.com/articles/why-is-marijuana-illegal/:ey::ey::ey:

Ask Roy Blunt for his references on any claim he makes...bet he will either NOT REPLY, or use the same old propaganda FUD the The La Guardia Committee (and others) said were lies...(he gets red-faced-pissed when his ignorance is exposed...not a tough thing to do, so sad...):devious::poke:

You can even look up what it discusses in your public library...truly shocking...not one bit of truth, yet it is considered worse than alcohol, tobacco, heroin or cocaine.:mad:

Gawd, I could go on and on...but I have to start prepping dinner ...

Fight the good fight as long as you can...if all else fails, move west young man!

  10. Holy shit........i love your signature cball

  11. For the studies and articles to send to your bone-headed politicians, just click that first link in my sig! :yay:

    Granny

  12. There were many politicians here, mainly right wing GOP'ers, who were all on their soapbox about "other alternatives" that are "just as good" when medical legislation was making the rounds here (only to be veto'd by "Conservative" Presidential hopeful Tim Pawlenty.) The politicians don't seem to understand many people finding themselves trying mmj AFTER seeing poor or even dangerous results with pharmaceuticals. Not that they care or take the time to listen to this, as it gets them no $$$/votes.

  13. When it comes to politicians, "when it gets personal" will override party agenda and even corporate bribes. A while back, a politician was planning to vote NO on a MMJ bill. But one of the people who testified had the same condition as his daughter. After listening, he saw that cannabis might help his daughter. And he voted YES! It was PERSONAL!

You have to keep sending all sorts of studies and articles to your politicians! Your letter about cannabis and breast cancer may arrive when he has just learned that his beloved "Aunt Rose" has been diagnosed with it! With the broad range of ailments that cannabis can treat, it is just a matter of time before you "make it personal" for them! Keep sending them those letters!

  15. Thanks..tossed it together one day after I got miffed in the politics section...used a few things others did (ya, shamelessly stole their art and slapped it together in a new way..:D)

  16. I'm just not good with hearing this. Dr's are people just like the rest of us. Some do care and will help, others are worthless as tits on a frog. My Primary Care Physician wrote me my R/x and she did it the first time I asked. I've been seeing her for 12 + years now and she has been a true partner in health. We both knew it was time for me to be here at the same time and here I am. She knows I played with my Med's when I was a kid and have a history with MJ and gave me the MMJ in spite of it because it is the healthiest path left for me to follow. She works for the same health system that spun me dry 23 years ago and has full unrestricted access to the record. If you can't partner with your Dr. and collaborate on what is best for your health then you have the wrong Dr. Be aware if it is not the ONLY healthy choice you have left your Dr. will not be able to protect you even if you do get the med you want. My specialist and everyone else who provides my healthcare has been informed or will be in formed about my recent change in medication they all know what I'm doing why I'm doing it, how I'm doing it and what my history was with it. They are all providing me with as much support as local law allows to help me have a healthy outcome. They are also all pleased with the results and you know what they all talk and not just to each other. You want to get better medical access nation wide the AMA is the only one Congress and the President listens to on this type of health issue. Congress and the President are the only ones the DEA listens to. The other thing they do is keep meticulous records just as this is part of the record. The Fed can bust me and none of us want the aggravation, I sure don't, but our ducks are in a line and there is not a jury here that they can get a conviction from because it is the only healthy choice I have left in my life for the things that are wrong with me.

The drug companies and insurance companies are a different issue. You have my blessing to trash them, they are soulless. They will steal it from hands that care for a dollar and they don't.

except my help full provider down at the patients group, you know who they are they are the ones helping me get together with other patients who are growing what I'm taking now. We like them even if they do want black market sized donations to keep there lights on so I can be well and pay my taxes.

  17. A private practice Dr is more likely to listen and care for the patient...a corporate Dr with the state, HMO of other insurance ran medical 'death and suffering provider' will NOT give a shit if you suffer and/or die, as long as they get paid...just my experience.

One practicing nurse I was seeing got so disillusioned by the states lies and forced suffering of the patients, she quit, and was moving west according to a staff member (state ran mental health center...I was very depressed at the time, from constant pain and nausea for years, much better with that issue now:eek:)
