Hi, I have two plants about 3 weeks Into veg. They're grown in bat special soil and hasn't re pieced a note feed yet. The only additives to the water used on them has been vita link Cal Mag and a ml of biobizz organic grow nute (which is derived from sugar beet I think), I ve added this on two watering occasions to a bucket of 4 litres of water to benefit the plants similarly to how molasses does. Other than that they've been water fed. About a week ago the one plant (purple queen) started to develop yellow leaf tips and the leaves started to look slightly twisted, a couple of days ago the second plant (Gorilla Glue) started to do the same. The temps are usually late 20s (degrees C, I'm in the UK ) and the humidity is USUALLY around 40-55% I've looked online and some say this is nute burn, however if that's the case why didn't the signs only just show up in the last week, especially considering I've never fed either of them yet? Please let me know if you think you know what this issue could be. Thanks!! Sent from my SM-G965F using Grasscity Forum mobile app
I am very new to growing but I will throw my 2 cents our there . From my chart it looks like it could be too much nitrogen . But like I said I'm very new to this and I am sure there will be some other people with better information than me chiming in . Here is where I got my info from but like I said I could be completely wrong .
Cheers for your comment mate. Would that still be the case if these are only just showing signs? I dont understand why they didn't show signs of nute burn in the beginning. Sent from my SM-G965F using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Your comment has helped the most my friend! Thankyou for showing me that chart, I was able to notice some signs similar to the zinc deficiency example on the chart. After looking further into zinc deficiency I saw my plants had more symptoms such as yellow or burnt tips and twisted leaves in new growth. The reason is my growing medium is at too high a PH level apparently, so I just need to lower it. Thanks for the help! Sent from my SM-G965F using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Glad you figured it out. Remember, it’s always best to ph check soil first to begin diagnosing any problem with your plants. Tips burning like that are most usually if not alway a sign of nute problems, but checking the ph will show you where your soil is at, shining light on what nutes, macro or micro I believe is the terms, would be affected at your current ph level.
Thanks klblue92 I'm just glad I could help someone out. I had lots of questions and got a lot of help from the great guys and gals here on GS. Without them I am sure my first plant would not have turned out like it did . I had some trouble with my first plant and that chart helped me out greatly . I am getting ready to harvest my first plant in a week or so and can't wait till my next cycle runs thru . I just flipped all the clones to 12/12 that I took off my first one . I ended up getting about 20 plants off the one seed here is a link to my last questions with some pics of my plant How much longer ? I am confused....
