Small town rumors are shit Everything is going great, and then my mom calls me upstairs saying, "Hey, you wanna come up here for a while? We need to have a chat." From the tone I could tell something was up, but I wasn't sure what. I get upstairs, sit down, she turns the tv off, and just sits there looking at me. After a while I just ask her what's up and she starts telling me that a 'concerned parent' called her and told her that somebody spotted me, sitting in my car, selling out my window to a known dealer next to the Laundromat, that the cops have been watching this dude for a while, and that there was going to be a drug bust soon. I definitely didn't see that coming. Especially since, 1. I do not deal, 2. I wouldn't be stupid enough to deal out my freaking window in an openly visible area, 3. I don't even know who the fuck this guy is, and 4. I've never, in my 4 years of living in that town, parked within 5 blocks of that Laundromat. On top of that, this drug bust that's supposed to happen soon is most likely legit. There was a huge bust of coke and Mary J in a city real close to us and there have been state and county police driving all through town for the past few weeks. Right after I found out about this rumor I started asking some high school kids I know if they had heard anything about it. Nobody had any idea of what was going on, nor had they even heard about it. This leads me to believe that some adult started this shit. I have no idea who or why though. I'm always careful with whom I deal and use with, and I don't think any of them would have started this. One of the best parts is that there are only 9 cops on the force and the town is so small that, if this rumor has spread as far as I assume it has, the cops know my car and are most likely watching me. It doesn't help that I have the only Saturn in town. I'm not really sure what to do. I got rid of everything I had, I've stopped smoking, I deleted any numbers off my phone that could be detrimental, and I've stopped talking to almost everyone I was involved with. Honestly, I'm kind of worried this shit is going to bite my ass since small town gossip always gets so out of hand. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Idk what else to do…
keep cool, fuck the law, don't break it, if you're no arrested committing a crime, they can't arrest you, watch your back, and who you trust
If your not selling then you don't have anything to worry about? They cant arrest you just from one little rumor, i wouldn't worry about it. and i wander why your the only one with the saturn in that town? lol jk there alright cars.
Just do what your doing right now and lay low for a while. You can still smoke just dont deal to anyone and do it by yourself and not with idiots. be smart about this shit i dont wanna see you go to jail
Dude i know how you feel. My mom used to tell me parents saw me smoking all the time which is complete bullshit cause i dont do it in public. Makes me want to kill them parents lol. Its like mind your own fucking business. Not to be sexist or anything but ill put down my life savings that it was a woman because once they hit 40 all they do is gossip. They got nothing better to do
the problem is that these cops usually believe 'the word around town' and once they hear your name they pull you over for every minor driving infraction, sometimes they just pull you over to pull you over and i dont have to money of the time to deal with that

True in my town if you came to my town i theres like at least 600 saturns i swear. but i also see my truck everywhere to so, i'd be in the clear if they had my name. Just get a really good hiding place, my friend keeps a mcdonolds cup with some napkins over the top of it cause they never just look in a mickey D's cup that your drinking. He got pulled over once with it and they never even touched it and they tore up the front and back seet. IF they do look in it the napkins are there for weight and last effort chance you say theres just trash in it and they dont keep diggin for ur stash. or get one of those Back up key magnets that you can hook on the bottom of your car, its a little excessive but one of my friend had to do it because his dad took his truck and searched his room for weed. but thats only if your really that scared
other than some fireworks i have in the back i dont usually carry anything illegal. ill be taking those out before my next ride tho. if a passenger has something hidden on them can i still go down for it? that would be shit
If your friend has it on him, and your getting pulled over for a minor infraction or something chances are he has like less than 10% chance to search the passanger if you play your cards right and no your rights. Youll be good, they cant search the inside of your car let alone you if they dont have a reason.
that's not true, if you're under like 22, they'll most likely pull you out and pat you down, and if they feel anything suspicious they can search you..they're allowed to pat anyone down, just not search in their pockets if they don't have reason... and if they find shit on your friend that's automatic probable cause for them to search you... although in the second case, if you had a good lawyer it may get thrown out.
Really? i think it differs through states then because ive always been told you can be asked to step out of the car but from there they need any cause to search anything on you. I mean especially if its just a pull over for his taillights out, because thats what hes afraid of.
so if they find something on him but nothing else on me or in my car they could still try to bring it to court? i dont have money for a lawyer and my family would tell me to deal with it on my own
these cops will search you even if its a taillight out. there was a guy a few years ago who was searched just because he had a rep around town. this would happen multiple times a month with him. Sure, he was a dumbass drugy dealer who ran his mouth, but still
it probably does differ from state to state, but in most places they have the automatic right to pat you down to make themselves feel safe, though they usually don't exercise that right in traffic cases, unless you're young or black. but yea as long as he acts cool, if it's not for a drug stop and his car doesnt smell he should be fine.
Oh ya i guess your right because i watch cops all the time and they pat pretty much everyone down. I think because i live in such a nice area with no violence because everyones stoned they dont really care. And if your not selling weed and have under enough they wont really do anything but take it because i think they smoke it but who knows. and they might give you a summons to a community court or something but you wont need a lawyer unless you try to plea guilty or some shit, even if you plea guilty you might not need one. You might, but most likely you wont need a lawyer but probably a fine.
dude if it wasnt u at the laundry mat and the police are really investigating as hard as it seems, they will know who that person really is. so i wouldnt worry too much, but i would deff not be doing anything or carrying anything illegal in my car or in public.
