Discussion in 'Beginner Cannabis Consumption & Tips' started by I3 Eazy, Dec 29, 2012.

  1. Ok so I want to get into the wonderful world of weed but here are just a few?'s

I love everything about the culture but!!

I see a lot of threads here and there about mould, pesticides etc.

Now I know weed isn't 100% healthy but is far better than smoking but I worry about the pesticides mould etc.

Os it easy to tell if your weed is contaminated by such things?? Any tips for a newcomer I suffer with health anxiety I believe ( that's what my go says anyway ) a d have read all about the wonderful traits of weed for anxiety depression etc!

Many thanks please go easy on me <3

  2. Hey,

Do you mean smoking weed or growing? Pesticides tend to be a problem for growers as is mould. You can only really tell good weed when you are smoking it- the bud may look great but if it was harvested at the wrong time it sometimes has negative effects. People associate weed with a happy giggly high but this is not always true, I have certainly smoked bad weed and ended up feeling quite low and paranoid. Generally if you are buying weed the grower should recognise bad weed e.g if it had mould problems so it may be cheaper than usual. With smoking weed it is literally a case of trying it, in my experience the good stuff always has a nice sort of frosting and a few amber trichomes but not bone dry

  3. If it's flushed and cured right, you shouldn't have to worry about mold or pesticides, but if you get the occasional damp, spongey weed that smells earthy or not skunky, you might have gotten bad weed.

Here's a good thread on mold: MOLD on pot - photos

  4. I'm just on about smoking it so advice is very helpful I guess it's just a case of trusting the supplier :)

  5. Well, there's no way to really look at weed and tell if it was flushed or if pesticides were used. You can just aim for buying top-shelf product and you should get good stuff. When smoking it people usually look for white coloured ash, saying black coloured ash is a sign for chemicals and other fert's that were not flushed out.

Don't be too worried, as I doubt you will run into something like this. Mold is usually an issue after leaving it in the rain or getting bad weed directly from a dealer. It's usually white a fuzzy, but don't confuse Trich's for mold ;).
