My parents buy old homes and fix them up to resell. a few years back they bought a house in Orlando. they started to clean it out and found a door to a small basement. you could tell right away someone had been trying to use it for a grow room. it had a ton of florescent lights on the celling and potting soil all over the floor. we cleaned it all out and sold the house. recently they bought another house to fix up and sell. it's an old plantation style home. 4000 sq ft 2 story that needed a lot of work. well the walk in closet in the master bedroom had cheep paneling that we wanted to replace with drywall. we started taking out the paneling when we found a hidden door that had been nailed shut. we pried it open and right in the middle of the house on the first floor there is a 10' X 10' room that has only 1 way in from the back of the closet. I could build an awesome grow room in it. I look for stuff like this when looking at houses and never find any thing like they find. they don't look and always find the coolest places.
we have talked about it but my dad just turned 75 and they are trying to decide if thats the house they want to retire in. if they don't I'm going to make them an offer on it.
