somewhat new to the site thought i would share a few pics. i have my plants vegging under a 125w feliz and a few t5's. my flowering room is running 3 150w hps. due to money restraints i couldnt run the setup i would have liked (electricity is crazy).i have sensi grow and bloom for nutes and im using coco/perlite/soil mix. im happy with what i have even though its nowhere near the best. hope you guys like them, any feed back/suggestions is always welcome. blueberry BB again some random seed i got from a friend, turned out good. elephant also from a friend, had some serious issues just starting to bounce back
Looks good man. How many different strains did you grow out under your 450 watt hps, just the three? I wouldn't exactly call that low wattage. I've seen people run a grow under just cfls. If you do this grow again, I would either veg longer or get smaller pots. Looks good though man. Keep up the hard work.
Is that a magnesium deficiency on the elephant? I got cal/mag issues when I tried to use soil nutes in a coco grow under a 600w hps. I had no issues under LEDs & CFLs, but once I moved to a 600w HPS, I was compelled to switch to nutes specifically formulated for coco coir. I went with the Botanicare CNS17 line for coco and soil and Cal Mag Plus. No cal/mag problems since. Your plants are lovely. Welcome to Grass City.
i also have 1 northern lights, 1blue cheese, and another unkown that i started from seed. i am currently switching over to 2 gallon pots, going to try my hand at a SOG grow. i was possibly thinking of doing just 2 plants but Scrog after this go around seems interesting. i noticed you have a hydro grow in your sig, was it difficult to get into? that one is actually in some sort of garden dirt from fred meyer, im not sure of all the problems it had.and had no info on what its life was like.. i assumed since it was from the same area i lived in it was getting high pH levels constantly. iv been watering it with 6.2 to 6.3 straight water and its starting to get its color back. gave it half strength nutes today, probably wont get any more. its at the 70 day mark so i just have to chock this one up as a learning curve. good to know about the cal/mag though, i was debating on getting some while i was up town today, i know what im doing tomorrow.
Cool man. I grew out about 8 northern lights (or was it 7) last year on our outside garden. One of which was good enough to mother and share with friends so i can get cuttings whenever i want. Pretty good genes. As far as the hydro, it wasn't that hard to get into it. I ended up building my grow room with the a hydro setup in mind. I started with the ebb and flo setup and modified it to a drip system instead of a flood system. The room and setup are ever changing though. I added a co2 propane generator (coolgen mini) over the winter and added a 5x8 veg room this summer. I also started with a 1000 watter and a light mover and ended up just picking up a second 1000 watter. Now i'm doing upgrades to deal with the added heat. Pretty soon the only thing i'll need is an a/c and there won't be anything left to buy for the rooms. lol The hydro setup that I bought was really expensive. I think i paid $600 for mine. I built my own hydro system in my veg room for like $50-$75. It would have been more with a flower room though because i would have needed larger pots. I've been thinking of going back to a single thousand and a light mover because I have never increased my yield after adding the second light. I need a really good grow under my belt with good genetics before I make my decision on the light mover though.
little update on the elephant, flushed it yesterday before this post.(pics are from saturday) had a feeling it was nute locked, woke up this morning and she is starting to get her color back already. sfrenger, im thinking about doing 2 plants in hydro to test my hand at it, any suggestions on nutes? i already have sensi grow and bloom, just wondering if i need anything else. also, iv heard mixed reviews about co2 did it make a difference?
If you have sensi a & b you're going to probably need some cal-mag along with an additive like bud candy or carbo-load if they still have it. I would also add some other kind of sweetener on top of that. Maybe Bud Nectar or something, but i'm sure your hydro guy can give you suggestions. Although with only two plants, you may just want to use the a & b. I use floranova grow in my veg room and outdoors, and flora nova flower for my outdoors. I use the 3-part Advanced nutrients line for my indoor. I use grow, bloom, micro, bud candy, overdrive, big bud, b-52, bud blood, and Final Phase. Also, I used to use voodoo juice, but switched to orca. There is a big difference between orca and voodoo juice. As far as the c02 goes, I had a light go out on me so my plants got kinda fucked up and tweeked. They never really came out of it. Even though I ran the c02, I don't know if it made that big a difference. I'll let you know in december after i get this new grow under my belt. I should be starting it around middle of october.
Update: upgrading everything over the next month or so. Already bought a 600w hps with a 6" reflector for bud and a 8 lamp 4ft t5 for veg. 4 inch inline fan for the hps, getting 2 more, 1 for airflow in each chamber. Along with 2 wall mounted fans per chamber. Switching to an organic soil mix, will post the details when I finish it up. I'm pretty excited about this, doubling my room size that's the main reason for all of the upgrades. I will post pics as I get the room setup. Veg will be in a 5x5x7 box, and bud will be 6x6x7.
