some basic questions

  1. ok i tried searching the forums for an answer to this question but it seems that its no where, or i'm searching for the wrong thing, but what do you do w/ your plant once you have harvested it? can you simply put it back under 24hr lighting and will it start to veg again? or do you need to take clones to continue your crop.

i also plan on splitting my closet into 2 sections for veg and flower, but i need some kind of material that is light like a blanket so i can hang it from the ceiling but still pass through it as i please during the times when both lights are on. it also need to be reflective as i will be using CFL's and i dont want any light loss. alll i can think of is stapling a lot of aluminum foil to a thick old blanket that well reaches the floor and hanging it from the ceiling. any ideas?

lastly, using fox farm ocean forest soil how long should i wait to add ferts? thanks in advance.

  2. After you harvest, you can reveg your plants to either turn them into mothers for cloning, or simply for another harvest. What you do is cut off everything on top leaving 4 - 6 nodes on the bottom that have the popcorn nugs. Do not cut these buds off! The new growth will come from the buds. Start out by putting the plant in 24/0 of light then after a couple weeks go to 18/6.

Do not use aluminum foil, it causes hot spots and only reflects 70% of light. Get some mylar (if you search you'll find lots of info on it). This stuff reflects 99% and you can get it in big sheets.

Wait 3 weeks before adding ferts, then start with 1/4 dose and work your way up if you see no burn.

  3. thanks for the quick reply

also i was wondering in a CFL setup is it necessary to regulate C02 levels, i've heard of using yeast which during fermenting gives off extra co2 gas, would this help or does the reaction create too much co2? its not like getting yeast is expensive and essentially the population will last forever as long as you keep feeding it sugar and adding fresh water.
