solo performance

  1. ive played guitar for over 6 years and, well, ive never performed to more than about 6 people at one time. solitarilly, music has been my number one vice, thereputic release and love. but soon, at a local show, ill be performing solo in front of my peers. it will be held in a local old-peoples club (dubbed "The Moose Lodge") that the organizers have rented for the evening. if my instincts are correct, the show will primarily be punk bands. my repitoire will be all acoustic covers and maybe an original.

i dont know how many people are going to be there, but ive got mixed feelings about the very presence of the spectators. its quite possible that their presence may disrupt my quality of performance. on the other hand, ill be in the company of friends and such, which, im beginning to think will increase the quailty, simply by embracing it. maybe ill toke a little to loosen up. that sound cliche, but, in truth, any time i play guitar high, i do it more passionatly and with greater emphasis.

pending on how long my set will be, i have a number of tracks lined up...

    "Pardon Me" (acoustic)- Incubus
    "Change" (acoustic)- Deftones
"All Along the Watchtower" - Bob Dylan
    "11 a.m." - Incubus
    "Mexico" - Incubus
and an original work that ive recently called "Rant" (no lyrics)

lookin forward to it. till then, im gonna practice till the tips of my fingers are as callused as a construction workers palm.
