Soil too hot?

  1. Hello all,

I just started my second grow. I planted two of the same feminized photo seeds. I germinated them with the paper towel method and then put them in my infinity AC tent. I have them under an HLG 350R light, which is dialed the the third of ten power setting. It’s 25” above the plants and on a 20/4 timer..The humidity is about 50% and it’s 77 degrees. The plants are in Ocean Forest soil. I water them every few days with water ph’d at 6.2

The problem, as you can see, is that one plant is thriving and the other looks burnt. The only problem I can think of is that maybe the Ocean Forest is too hot for a seedling. I’ve read conflicting reports on this.

What do you think? My plan right now is to just keep her growing and see if she straightens out. Any suggestions?

  2. I always recommend adding 25% perlite to any FFOF grows to dilute these hot effects,
add more if you intend to add you own nutes later

    good luck

  3. I've never had any issues with ocean forest personally, with or without perlite. Give it a few days and go light on the watering. If it doesn't improve put it out of its misery.

  4. There are a SHIT LOAD of people saying ffof is a very hot soil on here.

  5. Looks like your over watering, let it dry and dont water till pot feels really light. Its a photo period, it will recover as long as you have time to let it veg longer than you planned.

  6. Yep give it time it will grow out of it. Hopefully its not an autoflower.
