I cant get my hands a hold of many bags of potting soil. So I was wondering If I can mix soil with other kinds of soil. This is what I was thinking about doing... 30 percent bagged potting soil, 30 percent bagged compost, 30 percent native soil (light brown), and 10 percent clay (also native soil). Will this work? It may not be exact but will combining with any percentages with these soil work? Thanks for any replies guys!
Sounds like it will work fine. But i'd avoid adding any clay if you can help it. Just remember, light and aerated is the goal. This may mean adjusting how much perlite is in the mix until you get something that looks and feels right.
