soil problem

    my soil mix is perlite cow poo and compost its always. hard even when i water why is this and what can i do to fix it.is it even that bad really?

    I'd say the cow poo and compost have a lot to do with the hardening of it. Those are super nutrient rich, dense materials. Mix that stuff with some sand or regular potting soil, or regular dirt!

    How much perlite? You can blend in more and/or blend in some sphagnum moss, both will help keep it from compacting.

    how could i do this just lay perlite on top?how do i mix it with a plant already planted in it?
