I'm using FFOF soil. I was thinking a mix of: 75% FFOF 25% Organic Perlite 1tsp Dolomite Lime per gallon of cont What do you all think? Do I need the lime with the FFOF?? 25% Perlite ok? Too much? too little? Thanks in advance guys! PatchAttack
The soil is just fine on it's own. It's specifically formulated for growing your plants and doesn't need anything else added to it. You start adding things like lime, etc., and you're going to mess up the nutritional balance for the plant. Organic growers usually do all their adjustments with things like lime, but you're obviously not doing an organic grow or you would've made your own soil. If you'll start your plants in small containers like Solo cups and pot them up gradually as far as the size of your container goes (once the plant is taller and wider than the container it's growing in), the natural nutrients in the soil will be resupplied with each up pot and the need for additional feeding won't be necessary until WAY on down the road. I don't like using a bunch of chemicals and there is really no need for it in the veg cycle if you're using good quality soil. We generally don't give our first dose of nutes until about 2 weeks before they go into the flower room because I let the soil do the work. TWW
I should add I am transplanting plants that are about 50days into the veg stage. I'm having an issue with drainage and need to repot a few of my plants. You still recommend using 100%FFOF with no added perlite? PatchAttack
