A soil mix that was specifically sold for Vegitables and flowers should probably have a starting ph of around 6-7 right?

"Probably", yes. Is this a general question or are you asking about a specific product? General purpose organic potting soil with no nutes added is your starting point.
i dont get the difference between soil mix and soil mix (and top soil) im still germinating my first grow so i havent really got there yet, although its coming up... from what i understand its most important to have a neutral pH with no fertilizers. nutrients are important, and so is having the soil not too wet or dry. so which is the most suggested? ill probably go with some topsoil and maybe some manure? thoughts?
