Soil Mix: need feedback

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by decayer, Feb 10, 2010.

  1. OK guys this is the best potting soil mix I could find and I've searched a lot of places. Don't speak German but from what I could make out this seems ok. The ph is 6.0 as stated on the box. The brand is Stender. Check out attached pic.

    Nitrogen (N): 150MG/l (CaCl2)
    Phosphorus (P2Os): 100mg/l (CAL)
    Potassium (K2O): 500mg/l (CAL)
    Magnesium (MG): 550mg/l
    Sulfur (S): 700MG/l

See more on pic. What do you think? Will this be ok for my indoor grow? Will I have to give any other nutes throughout or will this suffice?

    Muchos gracias ;)

  2. Looks good to me, you want more N in your soil then P and K, and try to get non pre-fertalized soil if possible, dont know if that does or not dont know German.

  3. I believe it is prefertilized with slow release in 3 months. I was told that in general the plant won't need any more fertilizer throughout both cycles. Didn't specifically ask about marijuana plants though :p

So should I use this to start my seeds mixed with perlite or what?

    Keep burning

  4. Anybody have any suggestions to improve my soil mix?

  5. Soil is way, way important.

Start out with shitty soil, your life is gonna be hell.

In my experience, the further you stay away from soil with nutes already in it, the happier you are going to be.

You want your soil to be 6.4~6.5ph

Soil needs to also drain well, so mix perlite with your soil to a 60/40 ratio. 40 being perlite.

Fox Farms Ocean Forest, Fox Farms Light Warrior are the 2 most popular in my neck of the woods.

    Hope this helps.

  6. Grandfathe thanks for your reply!

I wish I could find Fox Farm products where I live so I wouldn't have to start this thread. But unfortunately I'll have to compromise with what I can find. Looking at the synthesis of the soil above could someone tell me if it will do for my grow and/or do I need other nutes with it? This is the website of the company: Willkommen beim Blumenerdenwerk Stender - Hersteller von Blumenerden und Substraten

Any enlightment would be precious right about now! :)

  7. It'd be cool if we could get some german speakers to throw some light on this :)

  8. ich wenn, übersetzen die Webseite

    Should I translate the website?

  9. I've been looking for some info on this and I've been told that the nutes already there in the soil are at minimal levels so it will not damage plants and that I'll have to use more nutes once they get to growing. I would appreciate some feedback from the masters on this. Keep in mind I don't have access to fox farm products or other US soils as I live very very far away from you guys :)

  10. If you can't get a good soil, then it might be smart to look into soil-less.

    Just add nutes.
