I bought a wrench socket for a homemade bong idea that I had and fuck is this frustrating. I bet it has some simple way to get it out but I sure as hell can't figure it out.

This piece of plastic is impossible to get out. I've tried pulling it out, I've tried pushing it out with a screwdriver from the other side, I've tried melting it but none of my liter flames will go high enough. Any ideas? Otherwise I need to cut the big part off and waste a liter melting it out.

    Cut it with a blade.

A sharp knife, pair of flat head wire clippers, saber saw, reciprocating saw.

C'mon, this ain't exactly fine carpentry.

P.S. -- I would smoke using that. They have a chrome finish.

When chrome is heated to a certain point it begins to particulate. Chronic exposure to particulate chrome vanadium is:
"Lesions of the skin and mucous membranes, possibly cancer of the nose or lungs-bronchogenic carcinoma."
    and
    "Emphysema, pneumonia."

I don't know what the precise temperature it is to cause particulation, so I just steer clear.

But there's a little piece of plastic that fills the "bowl" that's impossible to get out by any means. I'm pretty close to sending hate mail to Mastercraft. I'm just gonna make a fire tonight and melt it all out with some tongs.

And thanks for the heads up but this bongs mostly just for aesthetics. I just looked up chromes melting point and it's 1907C though, eep.

Edit: Iron and steel melting points are way way lower...I thought liter flames were around 1900C? Research time.

  4. 2 sets of pliers. One side grippin the socket, and the other side gripping the plastic thingy... PULL! Hopefully itll come out.

  5. No, not if you're talking about a bic. I think they are about 200 degrees celcius when you light the flame for a couple seconds.

  6. nah, think about screans. they are a very thin metal and would melt/create fumes much quicker than thick metals. the socket should be fine

  7. pull it with pliers

  8. It's the type of metal, not the thickness =/. And I put it in a vice and put half my weight on it trying to pull it out with plyers, this is so fucking ridiculous. Anyway I have my fire solution, no need for more replies :p.

  9. You try twisting it out?

  10. Solution?

    And yeah I've tried twisting.
