Oh, believe me, we've put a lot more into drugs and alcohol, and the way the are made, designed, imported, packaged, and transported, than we are allowed to know about, I'd say.

These are merely tools for treating diseases of the mind, like certain viral compounds, which cause some kings to put up ridiculous laws, and tell people that slaughtering innocent persons like them, is alright, as long as you don't get drunk until your 'shift' is over, and only use the medications that come through the proper 'channels'.

Tobacco has anti viral properties, and is legal, but altered with additives and discouraged.

Cannabis is anti viral and we all know why it is illegal. So someone besides the people can make money. Simple enough.

The poppy is a hugely medicinal flower, easily processed into tinctures and opium that can be smoked.

The only heroin out there is designed from someone who thought that making medicines poisonous, and hoarding them, is an 'intelligent' thing to do, as long as they can line their pockets with the fecal matter that is eating us all. Money. Funny system that.
