Socialist stoners?

Discussion in 'Beginner Cannabis Consumption & Tips' started by BuddhistStoner, Mar 9, 2011.

  1. I know there are a few socialist stoners on here. Wondering how many. I got into socialism before I started smoking again. I now like to blaze and contemplate politics with a socialist perspective. maybe thats fucking weird, but its what I do.

  2. nazi?

  3. What does nazi have to do with socialism? I hope you were just trying to make a stale joke, but if you really thought thats what socialism is...then... well let me keep my mouth shut.

Hitler fought against socialist. Stalin although im not his fan was considered the Nazi killer.

When I was younger I had to attend this closed off military style preparatory school, not much to do so I just read text after text on Marx/Engels/Trotsky, read a whole bunch of arguments against principals of communism, tried to fully understand the capitalist/corporate system we have today... I decided Marx made a lot more sense and I fully understood everything he tried to portray.

However, I believe the world isn't ready for any type of communist-type government because of the problems: war, greed, and famine. But, if you pay attention to how the US government works, and many others, we are slowly implementing socialist-like actions all the time (doesn't matter if you're left or right, I can provide examples for either), which was exactly what Marx predicted. That said, I'd give the USA at least 100 years before you start to see what seems like socialism. For other countries, who knows, might develop faster. I heard China was doing pretty good, and if you study them closely you can also see they are slowly going back to communism, particularly to stop poverty and increase urbanization.

The term 'nazi' is the exact opposite of a socialist. In fact, it's safe to say nazis are the communist's worst enemy. Fascism of all forms is evil.

  5. I love my friend> I do not think that America is ready for socialism, but I think there can be nations that can transition into socialism. I am hoping Venezuela will become one and Cuba transition fully into a socialist state. I think people in America are very misinformed about socialism...so the revolution that would occur here would probably be a lame tea party revolution (since there are many people who think its a so called 'grass root group') but whatever. There is a big maoist movement in Nepal. The philipines has marxist rebels. And sweden could very well transition into socialism. But I do agree with you that as Marx suggested the revolution needs to be a international revolution. Workers united all over.

I find that smoking weed helps me become clearer in my thoughts, but ofcourse they would just say I am just a dumb hippie wannabe.

  6. I think if people want to be socialist then it is awesome, but I do not think socialism should be forced on anyone.

  7. because the Nazi party represents the National (Na) Socialist (Zi) Party of Germany....god i can't even fathom your stupidity...

  8. I am very well aware... thank you for calling me stupid though. But let me ask you what is socialism and how does Nazism equate socialism? That im assured will not be answered.

As far as socialism being forced. No it shouldnt be forced, but if thats what the majority want then the minority should follow to it. Hugo Chavez is someone who wants to bring socialism to his country, but he doesnt force it, he tries to rally people for support for his socialist bills and laws.

  9. Pay attention in HS World History.

I remember that being on my quiz in 10th grade too, pretty sure.

Fact is, the term "socialist", in the sense that hitler defined it, (by adding "National" in front of it, he "redefined" it)

god i can't even fathom your stupidity

  10. I used to be in the whole politic thing in my teenage years supporting socialism and explaining governments to kids who didnt even know what communism or totalitarianism was but i kinda said fuck it and not a fuck was given about politics with me till this day

  11. I did the same shit I guess, but now I never bring in politics/religion into conversations.

  12. marx had a good idea but it wont ever work because we are human. we all have problems with greed and we could never get it to work. at least not on a big scale such as in the U.S. or China

  13. Marxism and socialism could very well work. We all would have to be lobotomized, but yes, it can work.

  14. everything needs to be balanced, we need a socialism and capitalist system...not one or the other

  15. It was the German communists that fought the against the Nazi regime the most while under the Hitler regime, hence why so many were killed in the country.
