So why exactly is Dank so expensive compared to mids/regs?

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by Trevo4311, Jan 19, 2010.

  1. So where im from mids and regs go from anywhere from <$5/g to $5/g. And Dank goes from anywhere to $15/g to $20/g. Well I understand Dank is higher quality, but isn't it all grown the same anyway? I mean whether its a reggie plant or a Dank plant it takes the same time, and space to grow. The only reason for it being 3-4x more expensive is that its probably grown with more care than reggie plants, with more fertilizer, ect. But theres no way it quadruples the cost of growing it. Now if it was $10/g thats understandable, but not $20/g.

    Thoughts?

  2. Dank is awesome.
    Mids/Regs are medium/regular.

  3. it requires more work to grow dank than mids. dank has a higher thc level. its a no-brainer.

  4. think of it like whiskey, generally its all made the same, but the extra effort, and care the caretaker put in to it, and the general strain itself makes it more expensive.

  5. The only more work it requires is just adding in the extra fertilizer, better soil, ect. And im not saying they should be the same price, just I think they shouldn't be 4x the cost of regs.

  6. Answer: Because marijuana is illegal, and because dank is essentially the cream of the crop, people can charge higher prices for it, even if they didn't do much to grow it better than mids/regs. However, I know it does take a lot of extra work for dank, which is also why it is more expensive.

  7. Why is a BMW M3 more expensive than a Ford Taurus?

  8. Someone can grow a field of mids and only go there to plant and harvest. Dank requires a more controlled, supervised grow. Still doesn't justify the cost though but that's why you should grow your own.

  9. Supply and demand.

  10. Ding, ding, ding!

More people want dank opposed to mids/regs. Higher demand means higher prices.
