So who else likes good ass southern cooking?

  1. I made me some deep fried catfish and some boiled, cajun, craw fish for dinner tonight. Shit takes me back to when I lived in Savannah, GA. Got a bunch left over which I'm takin to work for lunch tomorrow... *MMMMMMM!* :D

    Who else likes good ass southern food? What types?

    I'll eat just about anything southern, with the exception of chitlins.
     
  2. i fuckin love southern food. catfish and gumbo are my favorite!! crawfish is pretty damn good too. nothin better than catching your own catfish during the day and fry em up yourself at night.

    when i went to new orleans over the summer, man i was in heaven. ate cajun food 2 times a day, every day.

    EDIT: wow, i forgot to add grilled gator. that shit owns.
     
  3. i live in georgia and my grandma is from mississippi you know i eat rite. theres nothin better than nanas cookin on holidays mmmmmmmMmmmm
     
  4. Hah, I live in NC and my family can make some fucking KILLER food, although we've never been into eating Catfish or crawfish(I'm not a fish person.. bleh.), but we can make some fucking DANK ribs or BBQ.
     
  5. ribs, catfish, collard greens, fried chicken, gumbo, you name it its gunna get down my stomach real quick. btw anyone in the socal area goto Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles? that place is sooooooo good.
     
  6. Crawfish, Catfish, Frog Legs, Gator and hot sausage all mixed into creole rice with hot green/red peppers.. fuck yea. I love jumbalaya and cajun southern dishes.

    Some other favorites are sweet potatoes and hot grits w/ cheese.
     
  7. I don't have too much experience with southern cooking but I'm always open to trying new food...I imagine that I would like it a lot!

  10. ive lived in GA my whole life, we eat right, i know what your talkin about cottons, its a real treat when my mom calls me up to come to dinner, my grandmother lies with her and they can both tear a kitchen up in a cooking frenzy. i may pop in around dinner time tomorrow now lol.

    bbq
    fried chicken
    taters,
    pork chops,
    green beans,
    steak, lol im not big on veggies but the right kind of beans, ill never touch a chittlin or a pigs foot/feet

    Theres a lot of things I like about livin in the south and the food is alot of them.

    Fried catfish, fried chicken, gumbo, jumbalya, everything... If it's southern I'm home

    I still havn't tried chitlins though.

  16. When I was living in VA I could get some mean seafood. I made gumbo and corn bread or biscuits a few times. So good.

    I should do it again, it's been a long time.
     
  17. Glad to see some fellow southerners, here... I miss the south. These damn yanks don't know how to cook!!! LOL!

    I forgot all about the corn bread! That shit is SO fuckin bomb!
