So when exactly is the legalization vote in Cali?

  1. I've heard November... is this accurate? Will it be basic, whatever gets the most votes wins? Isn't it basically a sure thing since something like 56% of people support legalization in Cali? (thought I read that somewhere)... that's a pretty huge margin in politics.

What about Oregon? (or was it Washington? can't remember)

  2. Tax Cannabis 2010

    November 2010

    CHANGE IS COMING!!!! lulz

and yes, I will be voting for it.. :)

  3. November is election time so yes, but I do not know about a specific date. California is popular referendum based, so essentially it will be the most voters win.

  4. Man I can't wait to see what the feds do when this goes through. The DEA vs. the biggest (population wise) state in the union. Exciting times my friends, exciting times.

  5. exciting times indeed, how i wish i could be part of this vote, and proceed to burn down massive blunts w/o worrying about cops

  6. I second!

  7. Most people already hate the DEA after what they've done to dispensaries, you know, like stealing their product and shooting their dogs.

hopefully other states will follow us in legalizing so that the DEA is simply overwhelmed, gives up, and goes home.

  8. fuck the DEA, if its legal in the state shouldnt state police protect against DEA douchebags

  9. if its legalized im making an immediate roadtrip to cali the following weekend and getting super duper blazed. and then buying a shit ton and driving it back to texas.

  10. it should, yes, but sadly it doesn't always work that way. a lot of the times the local cops let the DEA do whatever they want. it's sad, really.

  11. thats would be like letting some random mutha fuckas come in my house to discipline my kids for somthing they shouldnt be
if i was a cop the DEA would piss me off

  12. Remember, polls said that 59% of California would vote to oppose prop 8, but when it came time to vote then a LOT of conservative but traditionally non voting citizens stepped up to the polls and pushed passage of prop 8. So 56% is really an imaginary number, you have no idea how politically active churches or suburban conservatism will affect this vote, since those groups traditionally don't respond to political surveys.

Still crossing my fingers for ya'll though.

  13. except just like alcohol, you wont be able to smoke on public property. (atleast in front of police, but the ticket would be worth it.)

  14. And this is the underlying problem with State vs. Federal and conflicting legalities. It does nothing but breed confusion and corruption. When this vote goes through, there needs to be clear guidance and lines drawn. I'm sick of hearing of the random "ah, let's fuck with this dispensary today" stories coming from the Feds. Not sure I can fully blame the folks in uniform though, as they are ALL being told to simply "do their job".

Not to mention if you happen to be traveling through the 100-mile range known as the Constitution-free zone around US borders. Good luck with finding ANY of your Rights on those areas when you run into ICE or DHS.

  15. True, but I think legalization is a lot less controversial than prop 8. For example, one of my best friend's dad and uncle (in Cali) are both ultra right wing conservative . Not warmongering neocons, but just in terms of morals, and always voting republican (they both wanted Huckabee elected for instance).

They both support legalization though. I think a lot of people, even if they are conservative, just recognize it's as much a failure as alcohol prohibition was.

  16. All you californians better vote
