  1. I listened to almost purely rap for more than a year and I all I have to say is... it's a fuckin sham. I'd say maybe 100 hip hop albums at most are masterpieces and actually have the soul to be real music, but seriously how is it people can be turned onto such garbage that relies none on creativity, originality, or even basic human emotions when the only thing that sells your CD's or itunes is how cool you are, how much money you stack, how much weed you burn, and how many bitches you get. the worst part about it is, you heard one fucking commercial rap song you heard em all.

did you know that most of the time rappers and producer don't even work together, the producer just makes a beat and sends it to the rapper and he talks over it. What kind of emotion do think was put into that track, if you ask me I say there was only one, pride. The album "the dark side of the moon by pink floyd is said to portray every human emotion is touted as one of the greatest of all time.

Now of course there is most definatley great hip hop out there, but the sheer amount of garbage being poured into the ears of the youth is astounding to me since a beautiful and emotion evoking music became "this track is fire" rappers are not musicians, they are guys with cool voices

I will leave you with some recent hip hop that breaks the cycle of shame that no one seems to have caught wind of yet

  2. rap is what someone does, hip hop is a genre of music.

why do people get all worked up about semantics?

  3. I'd say there is an abundance of terrible music regardless of genre, surely you can't pin that on Hip Hop alone. It's almost always a case of the industry trying to capitalize on something new and exciting by churning out ten mediocre clones and moving on to the next fad. The great thing about hip hop is the deeper you delve into it the more you learn about music as a whole. Without Hip Hop i would have never discovered the Soul, Funk and Jazz that i love today. Anyways i feel your frustration but for me that applies to all fields of entertainment in the hands of corporations and not just Hip Hop.

  13. Heavy Metal is my main music, and I also like Classic Rock. But there is some amazing hip hop. I love Nas, Wu Tang, GZA, Raekwon, Biggie, Pac, Big L, Jay Z, Eminem, Dre/Snoop Dogg, Mobb Deep, Dead Prez, Rakim etc. It is a pretty limited genre and nowadays there arent many original artists, its all been done pretty much, but there are some masterpiece albums from the 90's which I will always listen to. You are judging the genre based on modern commercial hip hop, when guys like GZA and Nas are very talented and intelligent.

  15. Niguha you just dropped like 5 artist name that are coming with new shit and their own style...you proved yourself wrong that quick.

How dare you label yourself with the mark of the Genius and talk about "getting bored of rap"?????...rap is something you do, hip hop is something you live. You should be ashamed of yourself, you represent the moniker of Allah Justice...shame...shame...shame...honestly Wu-Tang is more then music and I'm HIGHly offended by your lack of knowledge...and I'll chalk up you talking about Shaolin as another lack of knowledge.

Open your eyes and ears, hip hop never died! A good way to tell is that I'm still alive.

  16. did any of you actually read and interpret what I said correctly, I'm calling out commercial rap and old worn to the bone conventions rappers are glued to

  17. yeah i read it, but you worded it like your calling out all rap in general. thats just stupid wrong.

the amount of people that are producing good original ideas in hip hop today is astounding. if anything, they are pushing the boundaries of hiphop that the older artists refused to fuck with. They are changing it into a genre more accesible by a lot of people, not just dem hood nigguhs, if you catch my drift, (no offence meant).

commercial music will always be generic, because that template is what works for the most people. not just hiphop, listen to any genre and all commercial is the same.

Maybe if you listen to danny brown, big krit, odd future, curren$y, quasimoto, anything madlib touches, you might clue in to the fantastic state of hiphop today.

I hate fools who think hip hop was better before. Such bs. Just because people did it first does NOT mean they did it the best.

    Don't get me started.

  18. What is wrong with raping about all that. I dont really care if they have emotion or not.
