Hey guys So I have a couple of things I want to know and any input will be greatly appreciated. The setup: 5 bagseeds, all of them turned out to be girls. It's been exactly two months since germination, closet grow. growing on soil. I only have three 55w cfl and three 27w cfls for lighting. I thought some of them will turn out to be male and figured those lights would be enough but should get more now that I have all girls. Watering 3-4 days whenever they start to wilt really. on 20/4. Four of them are still in 1 gallon pots and only one of them is in 3-4 gallon bucket. 1)On the first couple of pictures you'll see the bottom fan leaves with some kind of disease. Picture is worth a thousand words so please diagnose my babies !I had a couple of white flies weeks ago but I got rid of them when I switch growing space and put some sticky ribbons around for those bastards which seem to work fairly well since there were only few flies around. I regularly check the plants and haven't seen any visible bugs. 2) I'm thinking of topping them to give them a volume boost and i cant have them grow too tall. I'm afraid to do it i don't want to accidentally kill them or something. Any tips on this? Thanks in advance and sorry about the crappy pictures but thats the best i can do.
What you're seeing on the leaves is very likely the very early signs of a deficiency. Because there are only miniscule symptoms atm, the cause can't yet be determined for certain. There's a good chance that it's from Phosphorus &/or Calcium deficiencies. A Bone Meal tea should prevent further damage. A high-P Guano tea or any of a number of pre-made, liquid, organic fertilizers could be used instead with good results. Keep in mind that even though it can grow beautiful flowers, pot is a weed and will survive damage like most other weeds. When you chop the top off, you remove the outlet the plant was using for growth and force it to use others. Any shoots growing from the plant's nodes will grow much faster after topping, particularly the top ones closest to the light.
Finally a reply, thanks jellyman! I've been doing some research and I feel like the problem could be be mites. Thinking of using neem oil. Any suggestions?
