So after almost two months of growing in a bubblebucket and a fistful of problems, I transplanted my plant into soil in an angry rage. So many problems with the bucket and nutes. It was my first try with bubbleponics and I guess i"m just not ready. Just venting over the forum I guess, don't know if that's against the rules or not.
Yes, I had a 5 gallon bubble bucket with two 6" air stones. I ran 125w cfl on a 24/0 schedule for about 2 months. I didn't really know much about nutes so I used 1/4 teaspoon of miracle grow in the water about once a week when I changed the water. I had fans going and proper circulation but the leaves kept yellowing, developing spots, and the latest, curling. I transplanted to soil the other day to hopefully salvage 2 months worth of effort and $
Look into the Lucas Formula man. It's extremely easy. I'm nearing the end of my first grow, and because of the lucas, its been wonderful. You only need 2 bottles and a measuring cup.
Mother plants don't get any rest and they do fine...? Cannabis will soak up as much light as it's given once it's matured enough.
Yeah i'm was doing 24/0 to get the most growth possible. The dark cycle does not induce growth, all it does is allow for sugars to be used.
I just bought some Nutri+ A and B for flowering. Put it on a 12/12 light cycle to induce flowering. I'm hoping to get some bud after all
Miracle Grow Nutes in a DWC Setup? I don't think I've ever even seen this attempted before. Stop using Miracle Grow, and use an appropriate hydro nutrient. Problem solved.
I've read they also grow their roots at night. It's important to have lots of roots during flower. I agree with Smoove-miracle gro bad
Miracle Grow: Many people insist on trying to use miracle grow plant food as a hydroponic nutrient. It is true that this is great stuff for soil, I personally use it on my flowers, grown in the dirt garden, and man do they freak out. Let me stress though, this stuff is not a complete nutrient for hydroponics. It does contain some micro elements, but not all. Your plants will start out fine using this, but eventually they will suffer from deficiencies. In the long run it is not worth the cost savings over a real hydroponic nutrient. The analogy would be something like buying a brand new corvette and then having the cheapest tires put on it and filling up with the cheapest gasoline. You will not even come close to getting the performance that is possible. I personally use fox farm trio system its a complete hydro newt system
honestly i think your analogy is rather generous. more like buying a corvette, filling the tires with rocks and the gas tank with dog shit. nutrient amounts/availability follow completely different standards/rules for hydro vs soil. miracle grow (is this the fertilizer, plant food, garden soil.. ?) is used to amend the nutrients already present in soil. it is not a complete nutrient for soil, much less hydro; if anything you should be impressed with the fact that the plants even survived 2 months. don't give up on hydro until you've seen what happens when you actually do it half-way right.
It is for houseplants, and it is 24-30-24 which i guess is good? Yeah I think I'll give the bubble bucket another go when my autoflower seeds come. I got a random assortment of 20 short stuff seeds I'm hoping to get some nice surprises
