so i sneak a nice blunt of south cali weed, to a mars volta concert, i proceed to smoke it inside as the band starts. by the end of the night my head is obliterated. THe mars volta is the best band eve, and i swear to god to this day is the best THING ive ever seen EVER

yeah dude, sadly they played for only a little over an hour, i tried to stay for system but their music is so obnoxious i cant take it. I cant wait to see volta headline, 3 hours of what they did that night would blow my fucking mind...like i wish people knew how true those words were. I was so fuckin baked, i was almost in tears by the end of the set, i got to see my favorite band ever live...fucking AMAZING, and they have a fantastic lightshow and trippy imagery that the mars volta is famous for using. As to what knd of music they are, i would say they are most closely associated with rock, though with so many more elements i dont know what the fuck to call them...besides amazing. any mars volta fan, get stoned before, itll change your fucking life.
i cant get into the mars volta. i wish at the drive-in would have stayed together. i just dont like music that i have to get fucked up in order to enjoy.
trust me dude, i got into it wwaaayy before the first time i smoked, mars volta is actually part of the reason i found the magical herb.
anybody ever seen sound tribe sector nine at bonnaroo?that is some trippy shit, they haev huge crystals and stuff on the stage and they have a painter on the stage that paints their music and stuff. and they're really philasophical about their music and why they play.
ooo snap man i feel ya on them...i saw them a few weeks ago...ya thier set was only 1 hour long but it was AMAZING. I can honostly say it was the greatest experience of my entire life, to date. Trust me on this one guys, you will never understand the enigma that is The Mars Volta until you see them live. Its what these guys live for, sure thier recordings are amazing, but IMPROV on STAGE LIVE...now that shit is the best ive ever seen. These guys are so unbelieavble talented, and have soooo much chemistry, they can all be doing thier own little improv and it will still be completely coheasive (Sp?). Ya but man id really like to see them headline, i couldnt see them on tyhier last headliner, due to grades n shit, FUCKING SCHOOL.
The mars volta is far from a stoner band. They're music is amazing and completely unique from anything else. Some of their songs are so intense and flawless that they are made perfect for getting fucked up to.
Umm ive never actually listened to them but i hear alot about them on this site so maybe ill have to check them out of of these days
