So.... I bought my second LED

  1. Man these things have come a LONG way in a few years. I feel like for 80$ its a pretty damn good unit. I was figuring I would end up just sending it back but i was curious and wanted to see what was on the market these days. I bet it puts out as much light as my old Ygrow that pulls 250w. Love that it has no fans and basically doesnt put out any heat. Wish I had an empty tent i could close up and run it in and see how much it raises temp. I still have to run bulbs most the time, I need the extra heat. But this will be a great light to keep clones under or maybe even grow one little plant per light. I can run it 24hr at 50% most the time which will cost me 25 cents a day. I can justify that for keeping a mother plant alive if its something special. Flowering a couple little plants with two of them would only cost about 60 cents a day. I think ive finally found a niche use for LEDs. Hell i might even get one to light up the garage. What do you guys think about these?

  6. Now that you've seen how far along LED's have come make your next one a kingbrite. Viparspectra is OK but they are white/blue heavy and not ideal for flower. The big thing kingbrite has going for them is customization. You can pick 3000k/3500k/4000k. You can add reds and even choose the manufacturer of the reds (epistar or cree). You can ad UV and IR, you can pick between qb's or bar style. The possibilities are endless.

  7. Nah I'm happy with the full spectrum. 3000K warm white, 5000K white, 660nm deep red, and 730nm IR light. The large majority of the diodes look like 3000k. I would bet 80% are 3000k, 10% 5000k, 5% red, and 5% IR. So they should be good for flower as-is. I wont be buying any more LEDs for a long time (if ever) but amazon did drop the price to $70 so I bought 3 more and will return two of them at the original 80$ i paid. So for 210$ i can light up my 32x60 tent in the summer and at least veg if not flower in there.
