Here we go. Social health costs? No one wants it. Too expensive Social Care costs? No one wants it. Too expensive. Military costs? ? ? ? Never a question asked. EVER! So we move on? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- World military spending totaled more than $1.6 trillion in 2015. The U.S. accounted for 37 percent of the total. U.S. military expenditures are roughly the size of the next seven largest military budgets around the world. Question 1) How much is too much? $693Bn For Fiscal Year 2019 (FY2019), the Department of Defense' budget authority is approximately $693,058,000,000.[1] Approximately $684,985,000,000 is discretionary, approximately $8,081,000,000 is mandatory. The Department of Defense estimates that $652,225,000,000 will actually be spent (outlays). U.S. militarism allows other allies to cut back on their own defense spending. It also raises the U.S. budget deficit and the $22 trillion debt. There is no realistic way to reduce either without cutting defense spending. Question 2) How much would a Basic Social Care security net cost? $806.7 billion In 2017, Social Security expenditures totaled $806.7 billion for OASDI and $145.8 billion for DI. Income derived from Social Security is currently estimated to have reduced the poverty rate for Americans age 65 or older from about 40% to below 10%. In 2018, the trustees of the Social Security Trust Fund reported that the program will become financially insolvent in the year 2034 unless corrective action is enacted by Congress. So if a mere 18% of the Military budget is cut. we would ALL have a Social Security net which would be able to save/prolong the lives of millions, whilst still being the hardest motherfuckers on the planet! Is this even remotely acceptable to folks here? Don`t forget. We are the ONLY 1st world country not to have any Universal Healthcare, pay by FAR the most for medications, and the rest of the planet laughs at how happy we are to kill, whilst ignoring the dying of our own. Would this be a kinda Republican/Democrat compromise? It`s affordable clearly. Thoughts?
That seems as if it would work for me....on face value. The problem is....the people REALLY running the country will never let that happen...
When the majority of the world relies on the us for protection, what do you think would happen with the budget? It’s always great reading the shit you post. If your anti social services, you must be pro military spending! How about neither.
With the utmost "Respect" You/We invade the world, steal resources, destroy infrastucture (then US firms crazily get the gig to fix `em) then fuck off when you/we have what was wanted and ultimately came for. You do know Henry Ford powered the Nazi war machine in WW11, huh? That`s an aside I don`t think you know, so I`ll move on. Yet your poorest people have to steal to eat, but that`s ok huh? The US prison service is the most profitable on the planet (being run by private enterprise) But here you are. On a fucking weed site! And again. I post shit? I offer an alternative (if you had read it which I doubt) Suiting the Left/Right and indeed OUR poor. But I`m the dick here? Until you have a little Tesla light-bulb moment....(As Edison was nought but a thief) Trust me amigo......YOU HAVE NOTHING TO TEACH ME. NOTHING! Have a nice day, now. Hope no one died in poverty in the US as I typed this. Vet`s included. xxx
I bet there’s a ton of fat to trim out of the military’s budget. We could trim from every where in the government. Give up some social programs to hold those that abuse the system accountable. Now is the perfect time with employment so high and unemployment low. That means there’s jobs out there for those on the bubble that could work, but choose not too based on current income requirements. There’s a give/give situation that both sides should support. I agree somewhat. However you are aware that you are talking Social Democracy in an inverted Totalitarian world here. Just so we are clear brother.
I have nothing to teach you because you think you know it all already. so now you’re an American? When was world war 11 by the way? I guess I missed that one. I don’t know why you want to rely on the government to help the poor. Can’t you do that on your own? Or you just one of those socialist that want other people to foot the bill for your feel good agenda?
As lame as the 11 is to the II, World War generally has Capital letters. I told you before, there is but ONE race. Nah.....over your head also. Do you believe it is the Government`s job to look after it`s very Citizens? Or maybe you can tell me where that changed. (I would like an answer, but not expecting much from you) Socialist. (Generally with a Capital letter also) I don`t believe you know the true meaning, even though you ARE one, so no point in going there. Now, stop being so triggered, and address the points I gave you at your last lesson. Ford, Theft, Haliburton`s choices and repair fees thusly followed..... But you won`t. You never do. And everyone watching this thread knows it. You are welcome anytime to contribute to the conversation. No, you don`t have to actually fiscally contribute, just see what you can find to add, eh? xxx
I would also cut corporate welfare and raise taxes on the rich according to the results of the economy. That’s just a whole separate conversation. I was just offering a give/give scenario. Regardless of the ratio of corporate welfare funds to low income waste, it’s still an issue and some accountability would be nice Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Like I said in my first post how about neither! Is that such a foreign concept to you? That you can be both against military spending and against universal health care?
Like you offered in your first post. NOTHING! If you have no more to add........? You will have achieved the sum of my expectations. Ford etc.? Ignored as predicted.
