Smoking weed and weight loss..

Discussion in 'General' started by Tonyizzle, Dec 3, 2006.

  1. At the end of summer I weighed 243 pounds, as of today I weigh 177 pounds. I have been trying my whole life to lose weight and could never EVER do it. I am only 18, so now I can hopefully keep the weight off and live my better years as a fit person. I just wanted to let people know that if you smoke weed daily and fight off the munchies for about a week, and only eat what you need, then it will become completely normal to you. You only have to suffer for about a week, if that, then after that it's easy. It's also important to not only have your goal be to lose weight, but rather attempting a healthier lifestyle. If you focus on just losing weight you will get impatient and be more likely to give up, but if you focus on trying to make your lifestyle healthier then you will notice your body feeling a lot better, and being happier, and be less likely to give up. Eat healthy and excersize, the only way to do it. I am sharing this story with hopes of inspiring people who suffer daily with the psychological war of being overweight.

  2. when i smoke i eat like a little piggy

  3. The point I was trying to make is that you can fight it, and once you get in the habit of not eating when you smoke then it makes it so so so much easier to lose weight.

  4. ha i really thought about this at one time. i figured weed could make you lose weight if you DIDNT eat when u get the munchies.

    how long did it take?

im currently workin out daily yet i DO find it hard to smoke and not eat

but i will do it from now on.

    and smoke more

    thanx

  5. Eating is an addiction, and it is really really really difficult not to eat. It takes about a week if you smoke daily and don't pig out, and then you just won't be hungry anymore. You feel a lot better about yourself because you aren't always worrying about food. You won't get the munchies anymore when you eat, instead you will get the opposite effect and you will just not have any desire to eat, and then the weight just starts melting off. It takes a lot of self-determination, but you just have to put your mind into it. Also, it will be particularly easy for you since you work out daily.

  6. This needed isolating. It is 100% true. There is no other safe, effective, and long-lasting way of doing it.

I wish you continued success; as someone who has also had weight issues over the years, I know how good it feels when you find the diet plan etc that works for you. I lost 2 1/2st this year, just by cutting out the junk, and dropping the calorie intake.

    All the best

  7. Yeah, I was just trying to tell people that you can use smoking marijuana to your advantage when trying to lose weight, instead of having it be your enemy (munchies).

On the note of cutting junk, I noticed that when I stopped drinking soda and started drinking water that I noticed the most massive amount of weight loss.

  8. if i'm not high i eat only small things - a few flavored rice cakes - cup of fat free yogurt.

i get high usually once a day - take a fat absorbing pill - cook a big meal - eat it.

i eat one egg and drink a green tea when i first wake up to get the metabolism started - lost 30 lbs so far - been a month

  9. losing 30lbs in a month isn't good for your body at all, plus it doesn't sound like you're getting nearly enough calories in that diet, also pills fuck with your body worse then anything dude.

I lost 40lbs in 2 months, a few years ago, by just walking a few miles every day, I did nothing else so working out really is the only way to go.

  10. Marijuana is a metabolism booster, that's not a myth. You just need to be careful about what you put into your body. If you sit around all day, smoke, and eat Popeye's chicken, don't expect to stay in shape. If you do a pretty basic workout every few days, you will stay in shape.

A basic workout consists of walking (or biking) and basic arm excercises (pushups or weight lifting). That is the bare balls minimum. Anything else, such as ab excercises (situps.. I hate them too..), depend completely on how much muscle you want in a certain area.

  11. I was definitely using this to my advantage back in January. I'd work out 3-4 days a week, running, etc, and only eating fruits, yogurt, egg, and chicken (healthily made), and smoke a lot. I would deny my desire to eat when I smoked, and after the first couple times, the desire quickly took a backseat priority. I smoke maybe... 5 times a day, typical stoner, and cutting back on ALL the munchies saved a bit of money and helped me get healthier.

Half way through this month, I have begun drifitng back to the old ways and since its only been about a week of going against my diet, I'm going to try making a turn around starting immediately. Cut out all sodas that I started drinking again, kill the fast food, or at least keep it to ... twice a month or special occasion.

I tried coke for the first time a couple weeks back for this very reason of helping maintain my diet. I ate about one thing a day for about a week, and you dont need to remind me that the whole "starving to lose weight" thing isnt the healthiest way to do it, but I did. Besides that, I didnt like coke, but for the reason that it did take all of my hunger cravings away and I only ate using the logic that I knew I needed something makes me want to get a little more to help me get back into this easier. Well after I finished my coke stash, I was able to keep it up for about a week. Still eating well, not eating too much, and then I started to get very strong desires to eat like "I NEED food now or I'm going to throw up/dry heave", so I started to eat whatever for some reason and gave in to soda.

I know weed speeds up your metabolism and helps lose weight. I lost a lot of weight in January, and from my week binge, I can say I already regret seeing the negative outcomes of the decision and can't wait to start eating better. Last night, all I bought was a gatorade and a water, went on a 45 minute walk, and smoked (not in that order).

Moral of the story, I guess: It's important to smoke lots and lots of marijuana, then eat right, and then do whatever sort of exercise works for you. Don't give in to temptation after you've made some significant progress, because there will be a noticeable loss.

Wish me luck. I weighed 285 back in December and Im around 265 now, and Im not done. Im 6'2 and unsatisfied with the fact that I've always been large. Target weight: 240.

  12. I was just reminded of something due to a Snicker's bar.

I can NOT eat chocolate. It irritates my back teeth so badly that I am left in pain for up to ten minutes after cleaning all of it from my mouth. That's one of the reasons that I never ate much chocolate when I was stoned. I just can't do it.

I need to go to the dentist, I think this may be due to cavities.

It could be considered a good thing, though. I can easily avoid sweets!

  13. I really need to try this....it's just so hard for me to give up certain things, like coke and sweets. And not eating after smoking seems almost impossible, but I'm definitely gonna give it a shot and try out mj's weight-loss capabilities.

  14. Honestly, if you keep everything under control you'll be fine.

You won't need to drop sweets completely, but if you want to get anywhere you should DEFINITELY put down that soda. It does absolutely no good for you and eventually your teeth will be rotting out of your head.

Sweets won't effect your health as badly. I leave coke as a once in a while indulgence.

  15. Something I've found that works well is to just reach for fruit instead of unhealthy foods when you get the munchies. I've tried to ignore the hunger when I'm high, but realized that's one of my favorite parts of the high.

Fruit is healthy and I guarentee will taste a hell of a lot better that fastfood.

btw, I'm munching on a mango right now

  16. Fruit is a good healthy thing to munch on high. Same with veggies like carrots. Sugar free jello is also good to much on when high because it has basically nothing in it. No sugar, no calories, and it gives you the satisfaction of eating stuff. And its real jiggly. My wieght fluxuates alot but im hoping to loose quite a bit and keep it off in the near future. Ive been working out a crap load lately and ive gotten quite addicted to it so I think that will help.
