Is there any correlation? I had moderate acne and I stopped smoking all together for the past week and most of my face cleared up. Just wondering if it was a coincidence or it's known to cause it.
my face always clears up when i take a t-break as well. maybe the non THC/CBD toxins/tar come through the skin and cause it my back gets a little acne that goes away when i take a break too.
For me t breaks help but i think that may be to do with me eating better when I'm not smoking, when I'm smoking i eat a lot of junk food. trying to get in the habit of cooking a meal when i get munchies rather than just buying some shit.
Experiment. Everyone is different. Try not smoking for a whole month. Then come back and tell us the results.
So to help clear up that acne, keep your face clean and take your Omega 3! Straight out of PubMed and brand new with pics! Effects of fish oil supplementation on inflammatory acne. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3543297/ and more- Acne vulgaris, mental health and omega-3 fatty acids: a report of cases http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2577647/?tool=pmcentrez Kitava – An Island Where Acne Does Not Exist http://healwithfood.org/acne/kitava-acne-free-diet.php Now, let me give you a second reason to take your Omega 3 every day! The way you get high is that THC activates the CB1 receptors in the hippocampus part of your brain. Now those little CB1s have a weakness- you NEED Omega 3 to make them properly! This study is the first one I found that mentions this fact. Nutritional omega-3 deficiency abolishes endocannabinoid-mediated neuronal functions. (abst – 2011) http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21278728 The corollaries of the obesity epidemic that plagues developed societies are malnutrition and resulting biochemical imbalances. Low levels of essential n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (n-3 PUFAs) have been linked to neuropsychiatric diseases, but the underlying synaptic alterations are mostly unknown. We found that lifelong n-3 PUFAs dietary insufficiency specifically ablates long-term synaptic depression mediated by endocannabinoids in the prelimbic prefrontal cortex and accumbens. In n-3-deficient mice, presynaptic cannabinoid CB(1) receptors (CB(1)Rs) normally responding to endocannabinoids were uncoupled from their effector G(i/o) proteins. Finally, the dietary-induced reduction of CB(1)R functions in mood-controlling structures was associated with impaired emotional behavior. These findings identify a plausible synaptic substrate for the behavioral alterations caused by the n-3 PUFAs deficiency that is often observed in western diets. "In n-3-deficient mice, presynaptic cannabinoid CB(1) receptors (CB(1)Rs) normally responding to endocannabinoids were uncoupled from their effector G(i/o) proteins" means that the receptor and its G i/o effector protein don't get hooked up like they should. The message that the THC brings ("I'm HIGH!" ) does not get delivered! The "dud" receptor simply can't do its job, and that decreases your high a tiny bit. Now, you won't notice any difference in your high if a few receptors are broken- you have billions of them! But it eventually adds up and your high is NOT what it should be! Will taking Omega 3 cause an instant improvement in your high (or clear up that acne)? NOPE! Each of your broken CB1 receptors has to be replaced one by one. You can get an idea of about how long this takes by looking at this article on Omega 3 clearing up depression (Yep! O3 does, that too!) Depression is also handled by the hippocampus, so an improvement in any depression would also accompanied by an improvement in your high! How Long Before Fish Oil Works on Depression to Lift Your Mood? http://ezinearticles.com/?How-Long-Before-Fish-Oil-Works-on-Depression-to-Lift-Your-Mood?&id=4229948 Men do best with the long-chain, animal derived Omega 3, like fish oil. Women have a genetic advantage when it comes to changing the short-chain plant Omega 3 into the long-chain kind. We just change it over better than men. Fish oil is cheap, $10 will get you enough to keep you supplied for a couple of months. And dump the junk food, start eating fruit as a snack instead! Eating bright-colored veggies is a good idea. The yellow is carotene which becomes vitamin A in your body. Vitamin A fights infections, which is what a zit is! Did you know that Retinol is just a modified vitamin A? So why not get it first hand, rather than take an expensive pill? Skip the iceberg lettuce and use leaf lettuce instead! The leaf lettuces are filled with vitamins and other good stuff- iceberg is mostly water. For salad dressings, try whipping up your own! here's a recipe. (Hemp seed oil has the perfect balance of Omega 3 to Omega 6 that we need for the best health! Cannabis FTW, again!) Omega 3 Italian Salad Dressing 1/2 cup hemp seed oil 1/3 cup cider or red wine vinegar 1 teaspoon of garlic flakes 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes 2 teaspoons dried Italian seasoning (or half cannabis) 1/2 teaspoon sea salt 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper Mix, shake well before using. Keep refrigerated. Dudes, start taking care of yourselves, NOW! You will be much happier and healthier! Granny
Great advice Granny! Some people dont like the fishiness of fish oil. That mega red krill oil is the bomb diggity.
Good read thanks! I knew the fish oils were good for you but just gotten lazy with taking them lately with school and all. Great reminder to get back on the habit of taking those!
The problem I have with krill oil is that krill are at the bottom of the food chain. Over-harvesting krill could upset the ocean ecology. To take care of the "fishy burps", keep your fish oil in the fridge, and take it with cold water. The cold will keep the gelatin capsule from melting so fast! Granny
just because you have observed some correlation does not mean one causes another when you stopped smoking weed for a few days, was that the only thing you did differently? for example, did you eat less junk food? did you pay more care to your hygiene? etc
I know vitamin B is a major cause of acne because it causes excess sebum or whatever its called. An overgrowth of sebum is what causes the pores to get blocked Energy drinks have a ton of vitamin B which is why i try to stay away from daily consumption. Touching your face doesnt help either. I get pimples on the chin area from playing with my beard too much.
I actually already take both every day, Multivitamin, Vitamin C, Super b complex, fish oil, zinc and other supplements just for general health and to aid muscle recovery as I am working out 4-5 days a week. Its defiantly possible about eating slightly less junk food but to be honest having been eating too much healthier than normal. Edit: not that I eat unhealthy, but I will normally eat out once a day, either dunkin donuts, subway, or friendly's. Cook the other two meals.
I read from many sources that vitamin b supplements are unnecessary because our body naturally produces it. also, id be careful about the zinc. Too much isnt good.
It's not like it's gonna kill you right away, but long term use of certain supplements can cause health problems. The body only needs a small amount of most vitamins
For some, yes there's a correlation, but I don't think it's the majority. I have found that rx topical creams and decreasing your stress works the best, but supplements and vitamins are always good if you are lacking.
