Smoking poppy

Discussion in 'Experienced Cannabis Enthusiasts' started by toker770, Feb 3, 2007.

  1. Does anyone here smoke a bud called "poppy"? ive been buying it from this dealer and its def unlike anything i've smoked before....then i hear its got opium in it, so my question is if i smoke it alot will i get addicted or is it no big deal?

  2. Contrary to popular myth, I am yet to find a source of weed inpregnated with anything else; I mean, it's push the price up for startes, wouldn't it? Think about it.

I'm sure it doesn't have anything of the sort in it. If it does, yes, of course you will become addicted. Opium is similar to heroin.

This is why you should know your product....

  3. Nah man, you can't say somethin' like that.. Just cuz a guy smokes some opium doesn't mean they'll be addicted. I've smoked plenty of opium over the course of a month or so and stopped just fine. Unless he's fairly susceptible to addiction, he shouldn't have too much of a problem, especially if it's not even -just- opium. Opium and bud mixed is a very nice combo. But you do have a point, people should know their product..

  4. With respect, he asked if he would get addicted if he 'smoked it a lot'.

Thing is, just 'cos you don't have an addictive nature, don't assume all people are the same in this repect; most are not. It would be irresponsible, in my view, to encourage an inexperienced smoker to take opiates.

Thanks; I really think this can't be stressed enough; sadly prohibition makes it hard gain access to accurate info.

  5. the first time I smoked Opium I realized how addicting it can really be, opiates make you feel GREAT, thus leading to addiction. Moderation is key.

  6. If indeed it is opium in the weed, there is a good chance you could become addicted. Opium is where heroine and morphine come from, so yeah the possibility is there. Personally I bought 3 grams once and smoked it over a few days and had no problems quitting. But every person's body will react different ways to different substances. If I were you I would find some other bud and not smoke "poppy" for a while and see if you get any cravings or anything just to keep yourself in check if you are worried.

  7. i used to get qps of red rock opium and black tar for cheaper than schwagg and i must have smoked ozs of it myself and i never noticed a addicition to it as a matter of fact i couldnt sell it so i just stopped picking it up after the 3rd or 4th qp and i also have a addictive personality meth and cocaine made me go bankrupt and that was the only reason i quit them so i wouldnt be too worried about opium but if you crave it then i would look for some diff buds because you dont want a drug to grab you by the nads///my 2 cents///

  8. red rock opium is not opium, is a toxic concoction of chemicals to create a cheap opiate like substance. it doesnt contain any addictive chemicals either

  9. that must be why it was so cheap!! forgive me i was a teen then and had no idea what opium was but the black tar was better and we had this yellow black sprinkled brick stuff that was strait too:D

  10. yea i definetly agree, ive always said this to ignorant people (no offence to the O.P. im talking about people who argue against marijuana). Theres no logical explenation for someone putting a stronger drug in there pot...it would be more costly to them... (possibly to get someone hooked on their pot...but i find that highly doubtful) it would be just WAY to impractical

Thank you.... It's not rocket science, is it?

  12. An you're not addicted? Maybe you're just deluding yourself.

  13. Thought had crossed my mind, too.... Thought I'd play possum for a change and not go into it, since I pretty much know the arguiment I'd get in return.

  14. I'm not flaming, just saying that opium really isn't that similar to heroin (it's a common misconception). I've smoked O before and it feels good, but nothing like as strong as I would picture H (which I would never use btw).

To the original poster, I don't think it would be laced with opium, although it could be done if you wanted too. Probably just a marketing gimmick like everone else has said.

  15. True, but it is still horribly addictive, and not a good thing to be big into; look at some of the shit English poets wrote on it!:D

  16. This stuffs not like anyother bud i've tried either so im probibly gunna holdoff on smoking it for a while and just stick with the straightup dank...thanks for all of your replys btw!
