Smoking less often to avoid tolerance

    Hey

I have been smoking weed occasionally for a while and i like it, but after having weed in my house i have realized that tolerance building is very quick for me and it sucks.

I smoked on day one and i got high, but each time i smoked after that i only got a buzz.  The only way to get high again was multiple bowls including bongs. Plus, while i like the buzz, i would much rather get higher less often than be buzzed all the time.

I don't have access to a lot of weed, and it's all bad quality.

How often could i smoke to prevent tolerance for building? I have tried 24 and 36 hours and it works somewhat but not enough.
Would i build tolerance over time if i only smoked every 3-7 days? Would each weed trip be slightly less strong than the last one?

My aim is to use weed as a trippy drug, having low tolerance to get a good effect from a bowl or 2.

Anyone here tried smoking weed only weekly (or so) for years (constantly i mean)?

  2. My cousin has been smoking longer than me, I've been smoking for almost 20 years. It takes her 1 tiny bowl and it takes me a gram to get high.

She never smoked more than a bowl a night in her life but still gets ripped on 1 hit.

    Jealous.

  3.
Yeah it would be awesome to be able to get high off 1 hit all the time.

I noticed that a hit gives me a noticeable effect when i have no tolerance, but it builds up quickly.

So my aim is to only use a couple of hits really, even if i  have to do it less often.

  4. Is it just me or do questions like this come across as a question asked by a 15 year old?

Listen, your tolerance will increase differently than that of others. You can keep a low tolerance by smoking rarely. Weed is not a psychedelic so having a "trippy" effect is not something it does, unless you force a placebo upon yourself.

Really I don't know what your goal is OP.

  5. Not entirely true, though I agree with most or it.

The reason my tolerance sucks is that I pushed the line.

I'll smoke bowls after I tell myself I'm too high.

The one time I compare cannabis to hallucinogens is when I packed 1 gram of potent 'Canada truth', it smelled wicked unlike Kief of today, but after a single hit of that, I was hearing bats communicating and all shadows resembled racoons. Cannabis never does that to me, but in high doses in a single hit can do that. My theory is that you need massive dose in a single hit, not accumulated.

the thing with drug tolerance is that it affects your high in two different ways; physically and psychologically.  When you use a drug habitually, your body begins to need to create more receptors for the drug to latch on to, eventually even these new receptors get filled and you now have a tolerance.  You have to use even more of the drug to fill up even more new receptors to be filled.

Now you can bring this physical tolerance down but that means quitting for a little while (with some drugs that can mean a week, for others like bud that may mean a month).  However a psychological tolerance is generally much harder to bring down.  This means that you are able to basically handle your high better because you have become accustomed to the effects.  I think this tolerance effects people more than physical, including myself.  Since I have been smoking so long I don't really forget what the high is like, as a result, even if i abstain from blazing for a month or more, when I get back I start to feel tolerance building pretty much after the first couple of sessions.  This is most likely due to a psychological tolerance, and an ability to know what the feeling is going to be like.

Thus, even if you smoke less often, because of a psychological tolerance you may need to blaze more than you may have expected.

  7. It's easier to build a tolerance to bad and/or low-potency weed. That is to say, a low amount of THC/CBDs.

I'd save up some money and buy maybe an eighth of dank once a week or however often you see fit. Much easier to maintain a low tolerance this way.

  8. you know its not a full blown psychedelic but it definitely has psychedelic effects.  And i have definitely been a little "trippy" or whatever after a couple massive dab hits.

  9. I get high everytime I smoke cuz I workout on consistent basis.

  10.
My goal is to get as high as possible with as little as possible even if it sacrifices frequency.

I just need to know how fast can tolerance recover so i can smoke as often as possible, getting as high as possible for a little ammount.

Tolerance makes weed weak for me (tho it is still enjoyable). Only when i have no tolerance i can really feel it.

Cannabis has been very weird when i do it without tolerance with good hits.

Yeah good point on the psychological tolerance, i feel like this has been part of thr problem. Coupled with the pysocal tolerance it makes it too mundane. No idea of how will this work once a week :|

There is probably very little good weed on this city, i live in a second word country, and weed is pretty much 100% illegal.

I may begin doing this, i feel like it would help :D

  11. where do you live if you don't mind me asking?

  12. yeah the bigger hit(s) you take the higher you are gonna get.

Is your goal to get a "yo man what the fuck" feeling from bud?
Anyway, your tolerance is inevitably going to increase, OP. You're never going to have that same high you had when you first smoked because your body is used to it. Your body knows how to handle it and what to expect. If you're trying to keep your tolerance as low as possible, only smoke on the weekends.

    Happy toking!

  14. i smoke daily since september and my tolerance never goes up. I work out 5-6 times a week so I think that helps. I literately can stay at a 5-7 all day on .2-.3 grams and it never goes up

  15. Ive noticed that if you don't get too stoned every session and just get nicely baked you can maintain your tolerance level for awhile.  I think this dude is trying to get super ripped every time but not as often.  I think its possible but again i think your psychological tolerance will play a big in how it effects you.

  16. Don't do wake and bakes first of all. What really counts is how long you're awake and and sober. If you smoke one bowl tomorrow right before you go to bed, you will might notice a difference because you're so used to being sober throughout the day that it will hit you harder when you smoke it at the end of the day.

  17. I'm in Ciudad Juarez, mexico
The city just stopped being a major hot spot for the fucking drug war, and consumers are still being persecuted. It's kind of a police state.

Everyone i know says that the weed is bad here.

Yeah i stopped waking and baking and instead do it every 48 hours or so and im noticing a major improvement.

Im out of weed now tho, so ill just have to wait anyways x_x
