Smoking has given me Insomnia and loss of appetite

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by ERINNS, Jan 14, 2023.

  1. I've been smoking for a couple years and trying different things like concentrates, gummies, drinks, and chocolate but my favorite is smoke. A few months ago I lost my appetite which is great because I could loose a few pounds but about 6 weeks ago i stopped sleeping. I took a break and was able to sleep and my appetite came back. I really want to smoke. It helps so much with my mood when it's time for my monthly and it helps when i have a stomach ache or just feel crappy.

Has anyone else experienced the Insomnia and is there something else that I should try so I can still consume THC and sleep??

    Thank you!!

  2. Knock you out indica's before bed. If that doesn't work may need to not smoke before bed. Personally have had insomnia as long as I can remember, I've only found 1 strain that'll put me to sleep. Even then I'll have to smoke several bowls over a couple hours to get some sleep before 3am. Lemon balm may help ease the mind before bed.
  3. I always use indica and i smoke a lot of it and still cannot sleep. :(
I read that sometimes you can develop insomnia from smoking weed.
  4. May not be the right one for you, for insomnia. Ive grown countless strains for insomnia and have only found 1 that worked for me.

The weed you are smoking could have a different effect on you.

You've been smoking for years, I'd think youd had insomnia from smoking weed before 6 wks ago if weed was the cause.
  5. Are you familiar with terpenes and how they work synergistically with cannabinoids? Strains that possess a high amount of Limonene, for example, can ramp you up and make you more energetic. Pinene can be great for staying focused.
You should be looking for relatively moderate levels of Myrcene, it’s responsible for the euphoric, relaxing feelings. Back it up with Caryophylene and Linolool, both of which are calming, and you should sleep well.

Also, as Brass mentioned in another post, those hash capsules are incredibly good at providing a great nights sleep.
