Smoking Daily [health related]

Discussion in 'Experienced Cannabis Enthusiasts' started by b3nner, Mar 15, 2007.

  1. Hello there fellow tokers!

I've come here for a bit of advice regarding daily smoking!

It's been roughly about a year since I started burning and what started off as a "once in a while" thing ended up turning into a daily ritual. While I don't mind getting my daily dose of herb (it's helped me in more ways than one), I do however have concerns regarding the health issues of smoking.

Recently I've developed what people call "smokers cough", and I hate it. I'm always hocking loogies and spitting and because of this I've put serious thought into possibly just quitting smoking all together and moving on strictly to Vaporizing and eating edibles.

Believe me I love smoking just as much as any of you guys, but at the cost of possibly leaving me with permanent damage to my lungs, just doesn't seem worth it IMO.

Any bit of advice or personal opinions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

  2. there is nothing wrong with permanently vaporizing, im not too concerned with the lung effects, im more concerned about how my short term memory has went out the door, sometimes i forget what show im watching when im in commercial. As far as the lung damage goes, i know many people smoking their whole lives and there is still no evidence of lung cancer. Vaping and Eating will only work to reduce those risks, however, if you ever want to start getting off you ass and doing something productive, smoking is gonna reduce your lung capacity and make you less motivated.

  3. Im willing to bet you smoke alot of joints and blunts? If so just stick with the bongs, bowls, pipes, and vaps.
I only smoke blunts and joints on occasion... but that is very rare. I stick with the bublers, bongs bowls and pipes.. i dont have smokers cough and i have been smoking daily for the past 5-6 years?

  4. Try a water filtered device. Especially if you put Halls in the water. :)

Crush 1-2 up and put those and some icecubes in a bong. Best thing ever.

  5. I would think that would be awful tasting with my meds.

  6. im with you, im probably going to quit smoking really soon, and strickly vap. ill prolly get the vapor tower, or the natural goods digital readout.

  7. You might also consider stopping having dairy, or at least not having it for maybe an hour before you start smoking. Some people find that eating chocolate (english and european) makes their throats more sensitive to heat from tea and food, and to smoke. Eating dairy's a primary cause of flem over production. It's also making your throat inflamed creating a lot of the guck you cough up. Drop it for a couple of days and see if your cough eases any.

  8. I'd go over to cooking it and eating it, although it's hard to judge what you're taking sometimes. How are you taking it BTW?

  9. if your primarily smoking dry pieces and joints/blunts i could see this becoming a problem.

i smoke everyday, out of GonG bongs, and i really don't feel any detrimental effects on my health.

water filtration is your friend, and so is ice. :D

  10. I smoke every day, maybe 8 bowls between 3 and 10 at night. I use a bong, but without water, in the usual way to cool the smoke down before I inhale. Removing water has increased my highs and cut my consumtion by half. It's also made me realise that completely emptying the bong is never a good idea, as the last part of any toke is much harsher and more liable to make me cough. I inhale about 3/4 of the smoke, then blow the last out of the bong and don't use it at all. It's a much darker colour smoke and far harsher. When I was using water bongs I was inhaling this too and coughing a lot. Now my cough has all but disappeared.

  11. I'm with a few of the people posting here- I smoke daily (3-4 bowls) out of a bong, and only a bong. They get you blasted. they are an excellent filtration system, and they're fun to smoke with.

I'd say, give it a try,.

  12. A vape and a bong are your best friends. My vape is one of the best investments I've ever made.
